Hey guys,

Its been a while a dropped a comment or checked this platform. Firstly i’d like to congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Jagaban). Let peace reign dear people.

So guess what? I took a trip to Canada - Montréal☺️ And it was pleasure + pain kinda trip….

I can call it a vacation but it was actually business related. Vacation because its a while i dedicated time to go outside my comfort zone to have fun. Business because it was actually business.

VISA APPLICATION
So being that it was business, i didnt go through the hassle other applicants did. Got an invite letter from the host which is a reputable organization. And because of the urgency in the trip, the embassy acted fast and in less than a week my visa was sure + trip

PREPARATION

I’m not the type that always pack suitcases to travel, i love and worship light travelling. My own kinda light travel could be buying all other necessity at my destination - toothbrush, paste, body spray, cream etc. only thing i always make mistake of carrying during my trips in hand luggages is perfume. And it almost always gets seized. Stupid border rules smh 😒

I actually lost 2 Ralph Lauren Polo Blue perfumes at 100% to border immigration - UK. Because they re all 125ml. 🙄

Hand luggage is my second name. The flight was British Airways, which goes from Nigeria - London - Montreal. With one stop transit of 4hrs going and 12hrs coming back. Horrible experience. Whoever has a canadian visa is allowed to make a stop in Uk without visa. Didnt know about that. For the few hours we stayed, i went round to see if i can find some food - good place to get the coffee (Pret A Manger)🤗 with a few snacks (Croissant - Heavenly one for me).
At the time of departure, our flight was deplayed while boarded for about 2hrs because of some technical difficulties - even oyibo dey struggle at time, love thy Nation. This delay made our trip 2hrs extra which is bad. For years i didnt understand what jetlag is till this moment. First hand foreign experience. We arrived montreal 11pm and got a call from my transport who took me to my hotel in downtown. Decent room but expensive.

MONTRÉAL

First few days i was just doing my business and didnt get much chance to go round the city, i could only check out the spots in my location at the time. And one thing is for sure, dont travel alone unless its necessary. Carry your wife, sidechick or friend to tag alone. Dont be like UNLETTERED abroad.

Basilique Notre-Dame De Montreal

It is a place with lots of things to do like takinng a boat cruise around city which was a walking distance from my hotel on St. hubert street. I did some window shopping and got lots of sourvenirs for my loved ones. I have a collection of some decent decorative sourvenir plates which are a bit costly too in montreal.

Montreal is a city with a majority of french speaking people. One wonder why nigerians are not much around. Maybe i didnt meet alot but from what i saw.

Centre Eaton de Montreal

I really enjoyed my time visiting this particular mall. Did most of my queen & princess shopping there. Even got a wonderful baby suit for my princess. Had a good chinese food for lunch. It was basically my last day, so i left from the mall to the hotel & got my things. It has lots of good stores - Not really cheap but the suits i got are amazing and did i mention they are fitted too.

Tunisian Civil rights activist lady

This woman is so amazing and energetic. She is about 62yrs or so she mentioned, but i love her passion for not just her country - Tunis but africa as a continent. We had a wonderful discussion over smoke outside our hotel. She was there to check up on her kids - boy & girl. Who are attending a college their.

She was really an interesting woman, forced me to send her a request on facebook and that i should come visiting anytime with my family, friends or anyone. That she has a big house and will accommodate us and even help with visa because her husband has some connections.

The reason why she was in montreal was to JAPA too 😂. No further questions.

Agreed there are so many opportunities out there, but are they really worth it?
