The Management of the NSIA: Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) is pleased to announce the winners of the maiden edition of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority Prize for Innovation (NPI).

Congratulations to Money Africa, Extension Africa Consulting and Legitcar Africa who emerged as the first, second and third prize winners respectively.

Money Africa secured a combined prize of $75,000 in equity contribution and $25,000 in cash ($100,000). Extension Africa won $52,500 in equity contribution and $17,500 in cash ($70,000). The third place winner, LegitCar Africa received $37,500 in equity contribution and $12,500 in cash ($50,000), while the fourth to tenth place winners each received $5,000. This impressive lineup resulted in a total prize pool of $255,000 in cash and equity investments for the top ten start-ups.

The winners were revealed following a transparent pitch session at the highly anticipated Demo Day event in Lagos. The pitch session was presided over by A-list judges including Juliet Ehimuan (Google Nigeria), Olatubosun Tijani (Co-creation Hub (CcHUB) Iyinoluwa Aboyeji (Future Africa, Andela & Flutterwave) Amal Hassan (Outsource Global ) and Tosin Eniolorunda (Moniepoint Inc. (Formerly TeamApt Inc.)

The NPI Demo Day marks an important milestone in Nigeria's journey to becoming a hub for African start-ups, innovators and techpreneurs. The NSIA Prize for Innovation showcases the incredible potential of Nigeria's entrepreneurial ecosystem.

By investing in these promising technology-driven ventures, the NSIA reinforces its commitment to unlock new avenues of growth, advance homegrown solutions and enhance Nigeria's competitive advantage.

Speaking at the Demo Day event, the MD & CEO NSIA, Aminu Umar-Sadiq noted that "the NPI programme is symbolic of NSIA's drive to catalyze the tech ecosystem, support entrepreneurship and enable innovation. Empowering these tech ventures further demonstrates our focus on Nation building"
