On the evening of July 9, 2023, a travel content creator, @munafromtravelletters, raised the alarm over a ban on Nigerian passports by Seychelles as he received a rejection email from the immigration office of Seychelles, declaring that Nigerian passports are no longer being considered for entry into the country.

“We regret to inform you that your application has been denied, as per immigration regulation, for now, we are not accepting any NIGERIAN passport holders for holiday purposes,” a screenshot of the email message from the travel promoter read.
