LAGOS—Senior Pastor of  Soul Winning Chapel and President, Women Evangelistic Fellowship of the Federation, Rev. Edith Iloh, has said that the many woes facing the country were as a result of corruption in the church.

Rev Iloh, at a briefing  in Lagos, said: “The leaders have so destroyed Nigeria through the monster, which is corruption that nothing is working anywhere. The worse is that the church, which is supposed to be  redeeming  of the nation, is already deep in corruption.”

Iloh, the initiator of  Operation Hope project, a platform through which she caters for widows, orphans and the needy in the country, who turns 70, said: “Things have gone so bad in the country and it appears that the leaders have no clue on how to address it.”

She added that the church must rise up and preach about salvation rather than prosperity.

I heard Nigeria builds more churches and mosques than schools. The way I see it Chukwu (God/Allah) made this universe, world, and humans and she wants us to build the world and make it better for the next person. Less put less money in religion and more in education and healthcare.

Praying doesn't do anything but getting up and doing something does.
