Who Is Wrong? Pastor Or Memeber?? by ThompsonJoo: 8:54am On Jul 23, 2023
During a Church gathering, one family requested financial assistance of 250k to treat their sick mother. The Pastor then approached the church members, asking them to contribute money for the family's cause. After the contributions were gathered, they realized a total of 750k. The Pastor gave the family the 250k they initially asked for and kept the remaining amount for the church's funds.

The family is upset, believing that the Pastor should have given them all the money since the contributions were made for their specific situation. On the other hand, the Pastor argues that they only asked for 250k, so that's what he provided.

Who is wrong?

GREED mentality at work....you ask for 250K, you received 250K, yet wanna to take everything instead of thinking of others unfortunate people who might need their own help

Don't know if this is real...

While the family should have been grateful for what they did receive, that extra 500,000 could have actually been a blessing for that particular family. They made have needed it for even more treatments for the mother down the line. Sometimes, people ask for specific things and God surprises and blesses them with that specific thing and even more than expected.

Honestly, the pastor should have either given the family ALL of the offeratory money OR spoken to the church board and let the congregation know that an emergency financial assistance fund is set up for families in dire straits.

That money was for a specific cause.
It should not be used for anything other than helping families.
The pastor could take up an offering for church expenses at another time--when needed.
I believe, in this case, that the pastor was wrong.
