In 1990, globalists had their biggest victory — dissolution of USSR. But there was 1 problem:

Russia’s concerns about security, especially NATO.

So, every Western leader assured Gorbachev: “NATO will not expand; not even ONE INCH eastward.”

Here’s a list of all the promises made to Russian leadership in 1990 re: NATO expansion:

🔹Chancellor Kohl told Gorbachev, “We believe that NATO should not expand the sphere of its activity.”

🔹US Sec. of State, Jim Baker: “NATO expansion is unacceptable.”

🔹Baker also wrote in three different letters to Gorbachev: “NATO will not expand. Not one inch eastward.”

🔹German foreign minister Genscher: “NATO should rule out an expansion of its territory towards the east, i.e., moving it closer to Soviet borders.”

🔹British Prime Minister John Major: “Nothing of the sort will happen,” referring to NATO inclusion of East European countries.

🔹NATO Secretary General Manfred Woerner: “NATO Council and I are against the expansion of NATO.”

🔹US President Bush: “We have no intention, even in our thoughts, to harm the Soviet Union in any fashion. That is why we are speaking in favor of German unification in NATO.”

Then, what happened? Just six years later, Bill Clinton announced the expansion of NATO!

Since then, NATO has added whopping 16 countries (Sweden included).

Russia negotiate in good faith but have been lied to over and over, from NATO expansion to Minsk to arms control.
At the end of the Ukraine conflict, how can Russia believe what the West will sign? This is going to make Russia guarantee its own safety with facts on the ground.

Gorbachev with his Perestroika and glasnost,though well meaning at its inception,was duped by the west who had the intention of breaking up Soviet Union.

China<->USSR == India<->China?

A popular talking point in India: “Hey, China allied with USA during the Cold War and came out as the winner. Now, India can do the same — ally with the U.S. against China!💪🏻”

Two problems with this reasoning:

1. China never trusted the US or its system.

2. It’s quite likely that USA would implode like the USSR

Let’s dive into #1:

To give a crude analogy, China went on many dates with the U.S. but never went to bed.

Although Nixon went to China in 1972, the normalization of relations took 6+ more years. And China opened up little by little with special economic zones etc.

That’s why the CIA tried a color revolution in 1989 (Tiananmen protests).

For 50 years, China stuck to its unique political and economic systems.

Compare that to India, where US corporations rule Indian economy, technology, media, and politics.

The #1 English TV channel in India is… CNN! 🤮

It’s a joke to compare Indian and Chinese relations to the US.

Now, #2:

Everything about the U.S. is shaky and dubious —

🔹Exploding debt
🔹Polarization and political chaos
🔹Inequality, poverty, homelessness, drug addiction
🔹Crumbling infrastructure, dying towns, terrible education etc.
🔹Endless wars and losing every war
🔹Military unable to even manufacture weapons and ammunition. Worse, the famed US missiles and fighter jets cannot be made without Chinese goods!
🔹Unhealthy people - physically and mentally - is a sign of predatory system
🔹Revolt of the developing nations against U.S. empire and dollar hegemony

China has many economic problems too but they can solve it because the government can take tough decisions and people will rally and support. There’s a huge trust factor.

Bottom line: It may be a better bet for India to join China and bet against the US!

Yeah, that’s very hard to digest, but from a game theory point of view, that’s a wiser option.

A third point is India’s reliance on China.

After all, China is the #1 or #2 trade partner for India.

Several crucial Indian sectors like pharmaceuticals, smartphones, computers, electronics, automobiles, solar power, electric vehicles etc. depend on Chinese goods and companies.

The devastation of India’s economy without trade with China is not fully appreciated by many.

China didn’t have such dependency on the USSR.
