During the civil war, the SS states went to Ojukwu to enter an MoU as they were all fully part of the struggle. They appealed that each SS tribe will be allocated some sort of wealth for that will benefit each individual for life. But Ojukwu told them that he cannot consent to that and if they decide to turn away now, he'd seize their territory and occupy with his people. It was then the SS realised that the war was for Igbo interests and not with a shared interests. So, they left and the Igbo military started invading SS, raping women and killing their men. The SS people immediately went to Nigeria and brought the Nigerian army to the SS, specifically to camp at Bori in Rivers State (this Bori camp was later moved to Port Harcourt). From there, the Biafrans were dealt with as Nigerian troops were now accessing SS via Rivers State.

So, Ojukwu has already broken any deal he had with the SS and that's why if you go to the SS and rant Biafra, they may break your head as they don't see themselves as part of Biafra anymore, especially when they remember what thier people suffered in the hands of Biafran soldiers during the civil war. The Igbos have this plan that if they eventually get independent from Nigeria, they would invade and take over the control of the SS regions of which it's very much impossible now than ever.

I do not act or comment on hear-say. I admittedly don't know the entire details of the evidences piled against MNK in the courts, but what I know for certain is that it would be foolhardy for any Igbo to have that kind of mental conviction to the point he/she will proceed to utter those sentiments.

The Igbos know better than to live with the delusion that the South South relates or resonates with, and belongs to their idea of Biafra. Yes, they often openly romance the concept of having one or two Niger Delta states in their utopian fancies of Biafra, but coming outright to audaciously claim the South South and make bold to threaten invasion of the said region, is idiocy of the highest level.
