The downfall of tinubu policy is nothing but fuel subsidy. The subsidy removal of a thing will destroy and consume this administration.

We are already heading for a recession. There is nothing wrong with floating the naira and there is nothing wrong with unifying the naira. But everything is wrong with the subsidy removal.

Lastly Nigerians are going through alot at the moment and niger should be the least of our problem. Buhari already wasted billions on Niger with bo benefits to us here. France has been in that country for more than 60 years now and nothing to show for it. The interest of the western world should be the least of our concern at this moment.

Tinubu should find a way to revert back to the old pump price or at least something close. Because in the next one year they might be a revort. Landlord in my zones have added nothing less than 100k to their yearly rent. My woman friend rent was increased from 500k to 650k. My own rent was added with 50k. A full tank of 17k car moved to 55k.

My woman friend just relocated from 3 bedroom flat to something smaller. What a shame and she might end up not using a car again.

I felt bad because we didn’t vote tinubu in the last general election. And the subsidy is not the way to go. Tinubu is talking about the poor of the poor. But in real sense the policy affect the middle class the more. It doesn’t affect the poor of the poor unlike the average and middle class. Giving to the poor of the poor to cushion the subsidy will not help the economy at all because the middle class runs the economy. And anything that affect them affect the economy in totality.

Tinubu must attack Niger or he resigns. We do not need a coward as president.

An agent of oil cabals spotted.

What Nigerians should be advocating for isn't reversal but palliatives to cushion the effect. This include
- making local refineries work.
- steps taken to reduce food inflation
- provision of efficient public transportation
- health insurance for all
- quality public education
- Commensurate wage for workers.

Even if it's 1000 what we should fight for is to be able to afford it....reversing it means spending money we don't have and have to borrow on Consumption leaving other critical aspects of life to suffer

As much as I hate the way Tinubu was selected as president, I still believe that subsidy removal and floating the naira are the correct policies, however he could have used the first 3 months to have provided gas powered mass transit buses.........transport is the main killer, the remaining fallout of the removal would have been taken care of by slow increment in salaries!!! He messed up the policy with his haste to please the western powers! The same desperation is leading him to a military disaster in Niger!

If BAT had a well thought out plan, removing subsidy would not have caused the socio-economic damage it is causing at this time.

The manner of the subsidy removal is fraudulent, thoughtless & a sign of government's failure to be responsible to its duties.

Two key reasons for removing fuel subsidy are smuggling & the corruption by a few.

How can people openly tell you that they are stealing & instead of prosecuting them for economic sabotage, you cowardly shift the burden to the masses. Its like since BAT can't fight the cabals, then he will deal with the toothless masses.

What should have been done were;

1. Do more to secure the borders. Invest in technology tracking & surveillance systems. Sanction security officials through whose sectors fuel is smuggled out.

2. Go after the cabal in the fuel subsidy sector. The private & public characters involved must be made to answer for thier alleged crimes & the proceeds confisticated. They cannot be allowed to go scot-free with thier loot & Nigerians made to suffer.

Thier cases should be fast tracked.

3. Increase the price of fuel to 250-300 band. This will take a bit of pressure off government in the interim pending when it can fully sanitise the fuel subsidy regime. This price will still be affordable for majority of Nigerians without the need of providing palliative.

4. Review downwards associated costs/charges/taxes that add to the price of fuel in Nigeria.

5. Immediately undertake a priority revamp of the refineries to get local production up to at least 70% in the first instance.

6. Institute a clear policy to encourage modular refineries & monitor thier development.

7. The confiscated properties of fuel subsidy bandits should be invested in maintaining the refineries, supporting modular refineries, investing in tracking technology for smuggled fuel & paying for subsidies (if any).

8. Tackle the supply chain corruption in PMS distribution. The amount of bribes paid to security agencies, port dealers etc is enough to shave off close to 100 on the price of fuel.

That subsidy should go is not the issue, but the process of its removal must be transparent, fair & well-thought-out.

People talk about the need for pallatives. Pallatives are just another avenue for a different class of cabals to steal.

If Nigeria must develop, then there must be a clear message sent out to economic saboteurs that stealing government resources will lead to swift, decisive & very unpalatable results for the thieves.
