If you were given an opportunity's to become a professor at a university or a
consultant in a big industry what would you choose? it is a bit subjective but you do
understand what it might entail and what the benefits might be.

Unique: i know ho much you want to be a prof so don't be biased in this thread.

It depends on the school. No industry job will sway me from a professorship in any of the Ivy Leagues, or any of the other top schools like MIT, Stanford, Caltech, UC-Berkeley, UW-Madison, Univ. of Michigan, Univ. of Texas, Univ. of Virginia, UIUC, UW Seatle, Duke, Rice, RPI, etc. However, if it's one of the 3rd-tier schools (2nd tier schools are pretty good in US.), I'll consider the consulting job, only if it's a very good company like GE, IBM, or Microsoft.

The truth is that one can still do consulting as a faculty member.
