What I heard is that coaching alone daily do fetch like between 1500 to 2k and the school management don't interfere. The money belong to the teachers. The teachers will use the school premises, class and chalk free without paying kobo to the school. Calculate the daily coaching monthly before you open mouth.

What some people don't understand when it comes to teaching in private schools is that they only do quote the salary which if don't do your math carefully you won't know that what most teachers enjoy in private schools is extra coaching. I have a guy teaching in one private school in Ibadan. A man in government establishment gave them teaching employment and manufacturing slots jobs in the Same church. This guy refused to leave the private school for government job. I was blaming him until I got to know that what he makes as earning in that private school is times two of what government is paying workers. Imagine a class of like 35 students for extra daily coaching. He is collecting 200 naira per head. Daily he made 7k just for coaching. This is what most private school teachers will not tell you. Some of them are better of than you sitting under air conditioning with tie and suit.

Or about 30 liters of fuel as salary.

Even a labourer in a construction site won't collect less than 1,500 per day. A bricklayer earns much higher.

One thing with these private schools is the stress. You will see a private teacher handling the workload of 3 teachers due to low staff, yet there is no career growth or increase in salary. After the stress you wouldn't even think of extra lessons because you are exhausted and want to go home. Then you get home and you discover you need to prepare for the next day teaching, mark scripts, prepare assignments, not to talk of the politics that happens among teachers. It's not worth it.

. And to my findings, it doesn't cost the school anything to compulsory the extra coaching for all teachers. Some schools I know do it and fix their closing hour to 5pm. They are paying like 45k monthly. The school will still make gain. But the management just want to be plain on this. I know what am saying. Except if a teacher is not sure of his or her competency. Teachers make more than 45k combined with their initial monthly pay.
