I have a 4hr stopover in London before connecting to Ireland.

I wanted to confirm if I'll be needing a transit visa in London.

You surely do need a UK transit Visa, if you will remain at the same airport to connect to ireland you need a DAT (Direct Airside Transit) Visa, and if you will be changing airports, for example from Heathrow to Gatwick or Stansted to connect to Ireland, you will need another type of Visa called Visitor in Transit Visa. If you dont have either of these Visas you will surely be denied boarding the London-bound flight.

You're traveling tomorrow, and you have booked a plane ticket for the trip. What will happen if you arrive at the airport tomorrow only to be informed that a transit visa is required in order to continue your journey?

You most certainly require a transit visa, which I don't believe you can obtain upon landing at your connecting airport.

If a transit visa is required, they will not allow you to board because the airline will pay a fine for doing so.

The first thing to do when booking a non-direct flight is to check if you will need a transit visa or not.

Who told you that? As a Nigerian national, you will typically need to obtain a Transit Visa to pass through the UK on your way to another country.

If he’s not going through immigration, as a Nigerian, he still needs a "direct airside transit visa”.

Those who will go through immigration will need a "Visitor in Transit Visa."

Please how long does it take to get France transit Visa

Hi everyone, I am taking a royal air Maroc flight to canada from Nigeria. The flight itenerary reads from Lagos to Casablanca(royal air Maroc) then change of flight( the same airline) at the airport to London Gatwick airport. Then wait for 19 hours to connect at the London Gatwick airport(west jet) to St John’s, Canada. My questions

1. Do I need a transit visa at the London Gatwick airport?
2. Staying for 19 hours at London Gatwick airport… any contrary advise or suggestion. Thank you
