*Lights out in Chicago?*

By Daniel Egwu

A war is an intense armed conflict characterized by extreme violence, destruction and mortality. Wars consist of "mini wars" , called battles, which rage on different fronts. They are usually confined, and well defined in duration, area and force commitment You can lose a battle, which is a temporary setback, but regrouping and winning the war is of greater consequence. Battle hardened soldiers are somewhat veterans schooled in guile and the very art of choosing and dictating the battle front or flanks to hit the enemy's soft underbelly.

The refrain has always been that all is fair in war, and the warring parties deploy all manner of weapons, including calumny and subterfuge. And in Nigeria, our politics is war by another means. If you don't want to be regaled of your mother's sordid past, then keep away from politics!

And so, in far away Chicago in the United States, a state famed for its jaw dropping architecture, vibrant music scene, amazing food, and iconic neighbourhood, the unmasking of a beleaguered Nigerian politician starkly unveils in scenes and unmistakable drama. One wonders why every story and sizzling breaking news streaming out of Nigeria has so much drama, suspense and stench. Unfortunately, the gaudy and beautiful city of Chicago will be the stage for the unravelling of a seedy and protracted Nigerian enigma. Perhaps too, at the end of the court case the hitherto indecipherable will be deciphered and it can bring to a closure the swirling strories about a man, his background, qualifications, and even gender. It could be a catalyst leading to inquests into the worrying spell of perjury that now dominate our political space. The only downside to this will be that our Nigerian courts and institutions became complicit by restraining and gagging themselves when they should have long ago settled this mess.

The real challenge is to understand a man who has deftly, like an exceptionally skilled chess genius, perched unscathed, all these years, and straddles our political terrain, even with all his alleged baggage. Stranger still is the fact that our usually unforgiving and vibrant press has bafflingly acquiesced in digging deeper to unravel a man steeped in mystery. Will Chicago turn on the light?

Chicago may become an intriguing metaphor for our teetering judiciary and should stridently question the numbing spate of "cash and carry" (in)justice that has unfortunately become our ugly norm.

The outcome in Chicago should challenge us to demand for institutional reforms as we have unwittingly allowed the gradual decay of governments, the governance process and desecrated the institutions therein.

At last, there seems to be light in this pervasive darkness, as Chicago promises to lay to rest what has seemingly become an intractable conundrum. We will finally know the true story of the enigma's schools that he attended, his prequalification documents and other things, that surprisingly, they have refused to make public.

The war that started in Nigeria, has opened up many fronts and just as we have the battle of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, the impending Supreme Court battle, the Chicago battlefield will also have a say. But will it be lights out in Chicago?

Daniel Egwu from Obi's kindred, hoping his kinsman who could not win election would benefit from Tinubu's disqualification over a University who have clearly identified with their brilliant and most notable alumnus ever.

Harvard and Yale have produced Presidents for USA, CSU now has the privilege of producing a President for Africa's greatest country.

Of course that was where the forgery/certificate racketeering and heroine-drug running forfeiture scandal of Bola Tinubu started and ended.

It is not an Igbo agenda but a scandalous criminality of national and international proportion involving the criminally installed president of Nigeria.

You will only know the damage this unfolding fraud does to your person when you go abroad and someone tells you; "your president is a criminal, you too are a criminal."

"She was neither president of the university in 1979 – when the certificate was purportedly issued – nor was she president in 2022, when the replacement certificates were issued. The lawyer also expressed dismay that both certificates bear different letter fonts and logos of the university."

Bigot, waka pass.

If you are not rehabilitated early enough, you will go the way of this Igbo fellow who lost his sanity just because Tinubu defeated the Igbo agenda candidate.

If Tinubu has 20 different certificates signed by 20 different authorities, as long as all were issued by the University, there is no case with Tinubu.

You can go ahead an sue the school for issuing multiple certificates with different award dates when students request for a re-issue. That is an issue with the school and not the student.

Some matters are beer parlour discussions, stop bringing such idiocy in the midst of educated minds.

Bro that psychiatric rehab centre of a thing heh, its time government take it seriously before this people would become a menace to their communities considering their activities of some of them on this forum.

They have stopped reasoning logically

They argue mostly on the topic they only have half baked knowledge about.

They are not ready to be corrected even when its obvious they are wrong.

To cap it all, sorry word is not in their dictionary, if not their ways, then it must be soak aways.

How can you tell me those lots that possessed the characters above are still mentally normal?

You cannot wake up a man pretending to be asleep, that is why no amount of fact can convince an Igboman on a matter that concerns someone of another tribe.

This matter is a tribal matter and I call it what it is.

If anything at all, their response to subsidy removal that Buhari had already approved and post-dated, and that their own candidate never challenged but even assured he would remove on the 1st day of office if elected, is enough evidence to not expect any rational thought from those who are pushing a tribal agenda and propaganda.

Reasonable number of those Obidients have thrown their educations and thinking faculty into gutter. When you sometimes read their arguments, I would be like why can't this people just STFU.
