You are right. It is impossible to preach salvation without speaking about the fierce judgement of sin in hell. Someone without pimples will likely not be interested in buying a pimple cream. We have to make sinners realize that they are sinners before they can see the need for salvation, but we have to do this with love and humility.

You cannot walk up to a lady with pimples on her face and say, "Look at your face! Eww! It is so disgusting! You better buy this pimple cream for your face; it's for your own good o!" without expecting a similar reaction. Even if the lady curses you or insults you, she cannot be considered a witch; she is simply reacting to your actions. But if you approach the lady and say, "Sister, this pimple cream is very good. It works very fast. Just buy it and test it; it will clear all these pimples on your face." You would likely not receive a negative reaction and the lady will gladly buy it if she is interested.

One day, I saw a man preaching, and I couldn't hold back my laughter. He was just looking around at people's clothing and commenting on it. A lady even passed by and hissed because she knew his words were directed at her. A backslider might listen to his preaching and repent, but I doubt an unbeliever will do the same. Evangelism is primarily intended to attract new believers but his preaching lacked the substance to do that.
