Would You Use A Crypto Payment Terminal For Your On/offline Business In Nigeria? by BalonTech: 3:56pm On Sep 02, 2023
Hello Everyone,

We hope you're all doing well. We are currently exploring the idea of launching a Crypto Payment Terminal/Gateway specifically designed for Nigerian online businesses, and we would love to hear your thoughts on this.

As digital currencies continue to gain traction globally, forward-thinking online businesses in Nigeria have a timely opportunity to accept cryptocurrency payments. Integrating crypto payment gateways could attract technologically inclined customers, both locally and internationally. Tapping into this expanding market could be lucrative for Nigerian e-commerce stores and service providers, ensuring long-term success in the Web3 economy. However, skepticism and uncertainty around the legality of cryptocurrencies may cause hesitation. In 2020, the Central Bank of Nigeria barred banks from servicing crypto exchanges, although peer-to-peer trading remains legal. While regulatory guidance is still evolving, adding crypto payment options doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing proposition. A prudent approach involves embracing crypto payments while using mature treasury management tools to minimize risk.

What is a Crypto Payment Terminal?
A cryptocurrency payment terminal enables online businesses to seamlessly accept payments in major cryptocurrencies like USDT, Bitcoin, and Ethereum. It acts as a secure gateway that integrates crypto payment options alongside traditional methods like credit cards.

Why Crypto?
~ Lower transaction fees compared to Stripe, Paystack, Remita, etc.
~ Faster payment processing (minutes, not weeks)
~ Increased security
~ Global reach

For this, we have some questions:
1.) Would you be interested in using a Crypto Payment Terminal for your online business? Why or why not?
2.) What features are most important to you in a payment terminal?
3.) Would you prefer a standalone Crypto Payment Terminal or one that integrates with existing payment gateways?
4.) How much would you be willing to pay for such a service?
5.) Do you think there's a demand for crypto payments in Nigeria?
6.) Would you be open to a pilot test if we develop a prototype?
7.) Would you be interested in a mobile app version of the terminal?
8.) How do you currently handle payments for your online business?
9.) Would you be interested in an affiliate program to earn commissions?
10.) Any other suggestions or concerns you'd like to share?

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to this post. Your feedback is invaluable as we consider moving forward with this project and other products that we have lined up to launch soon.
