So today, I started conducting the second round of interview for a company as a Contractor.

So a lady worked in with her baby to the building premises, said she wants to apply for the position I was conducting the second round of interviews for.

The company wanted to employ 4 person for the role. I have already interviewed 7 persons already.

So I considered the lady for an interview.
As the interview was going, I asked her what is the name of her secondary school?

She said FGC Kogi.

My face lit up as if I just won a Jackpot. 😁
I was so happy as if I Just found my lost sister.

Na there the interview end o. I recommended her to be hired immediately to resume Next week Monday.

I myself had the same experience when I applied for a Cyber security job to a new startup in Lagos 2019.

During my interview, when the lead recruiter asked which Secondary school did you attend? I told him FGC PH

Na there my interview end o. He told me his son is an FGC student and he knows FGC students are very intelligent.

That's how I got the job.

Lesson

If you attended an FGC secondary school and you mentioned it during your job interview, sometimes you might get a favourable decision when applying for a job. Who knows.

Although I a a little biased to say this but for me, if am hiring for any position, I am more likely to hire more FGC student than other candidates
