I’m a 100Level medical student here in Nigeria, I’m among the pioneer set in my school. I got a scholarship to study medicine in Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. I really don’t know if I should stay or leave. Deep down I want to leave but I’ve been reading posts about foreign trained doctors failing the council exams in Nigeria. I really need help because I can’t make a decision😕. I’d really appreciate your help🙏

The scholarship you got, is it a fully funded scholarship? Because naira's value is extremely poor. But if your parents are well to do and can rake up some $ for you incase you're to cover up some costs like feeding, air ticket etc, then go for it.

Good luck.

1. Is medicine fully accredited in your current school? If not, there are chances that you will spend a longer time in school

2. Is medicine fully accredited in the school in Egypt?

3. Is the scholarship fully funded?

If the answer to 1 is yes (which is unlikely since you are pioneer set), and that to 2 is in the affirmative, then you could consider the school in Egypt.

The questions I raised could help you to take the right decision.

If it's a fully funded scholarship, I will advise you to go for it...
