Expressways, streets, and homes were flooded. Floods have hit various parts of the state. The largest city, Lagos, has suffered especially. The floods caused suffering to residents and prompted authorities to take emergency measures. Lasu-Igando roads and Lagos-Badagry Expressway were completely shut down. Among the affected communities, residents of Papa Ashafa and Fashola bore the brunt of the flooding. Many displaced people sought refuge in nearby churches.
