It is unfortunate that Peter Obi has yet to acknowledge and congratulate Alhaji Lamidi Apapa on his well-deserved victory at the Supreme Court as the authentic national chairman/leader of the Labour Party. It's important for us politicians to consider the implications of such decisions, as party supremacy should be respected by all, so as members of the governing party. We urge PO to drop that long thread, which might have been hanging in his drafts. We are not praying for more disunity in the Labour Party.

Let me tell you the fact, the Supreme Court did not and will not affirm Abure or Apapa.

The Supreme Court will only deal on what is before it. From past decisions, they will only affirm the Candidate.

Let me explain what happened, because this tactics was employed by Reagan Ufomba to try to stop Otti in APGA in 2014 which met same fate as this.

Apapa sponsored Ukaegbu, Abure sponsored Agu otu aka.

Now, Apapa used one of their friends, Basil Maduka (who did not participate in the Primary) to challenge Ukaegbu. The FHC understandably upheld Ukaegbu. When it went to Appeal, Abure got to know of it and challenged same.

The lower Courts are careful to decide leadership of a Party, so they affirmed Ukaegbu because the suit before them was Maduka v Ukaegbu and not the leadership tussle.

The Supreme Court have the inherent powers to do the needful.
The Apex Court will not ask who the Chairman is?

They will simply ask INEC:

1. Which Primary did you monitor?
2. Which Primary was organised with the backing of the recognised NEC of the Party?

So they yesterday affirmed Achonu and not Abure or Apapa.

So, it is safe to say Abure is National Chairman by virtue of the backing of NEC and his Candidate, Achonu.
