It is no longer news that subsidy on PMS in Nigeria is back, it was paid for the month of August and that of September is about to be paid.

It is easier to say alot outside the position of leadership than to implement what has been said when in position of power. Right now the government is confused, president is confused, cabinet members have no direction, nothing is working. The shame did not allow them make the subsidy payment public.

If the subsidy wasn't paid, the price of PMS would have hit 950 naira or even more. Everybody including the agadorians are feeling heat except the political class whose cars go on full tank daily courtesy of tax payers money.

There is no way dollar will rise against the naira and not have ripple effect on the price of PMS given that we import this product. I have postulated severally that the only way to go is to have local refineries working and producing minimum of 80% local consumption, then we will see an 'economic miracle' of how the price of PMS will drop drastically on its own.

Where is the Dangote refinery that was supposed to start producing in July 2023. Oh, the president promised that PH refinery will commence refining in December, well we are waiting.

The government of the day which have never had any shame shouldn't bother being shameful of announcing the return of subsidy as it is now visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that subsidy is back. Thereafter, effort should be made to ensure our local refining of PMS. With this, the government will be able to reduce industrial disputes and put a little more smile on the faces of Nigerians who have been suffering and smiling.

I salute the courage and resolute spirit of Nigerians.
