Master it, take your words slowly, take your words slowly and read your presentation, following the punctuations very well. Don't try to rush. When tension and heart rate starts to increase, take a deep breath. Always have a bottle water with you. Finally, watch lots of YouTube videos on public speaking, watch conversations and public interviews on TV, and do personal presentation in front of a mirror.

No one is perfect. When you want to present another time, start on a lighter mood I mean start with something that will make them laugh especially games. Move around don't ever stand in one place to take control of your presentation.
Another expo, a day before the presentation try and do rehearsals to master the presentation.

I was the best student in my junior secondary school that year, i top my class silently always surprising people with my performance... Fast forward to SS1 first term when I had to represent my class in a debate against the art class after much pressure from my English teacher, you need to see how I singlehandedly highlight my valid points that even my teacher was so impressed, people of God the day came and the only thing I was able to say was to observe all the salutation protocols the rest was silent mood and little blabbing for the remaining time. I wasn't myself all through the week, was so ashamed but later got over it after making up my mind to defeat whatever
that phobia was. I joined the press club bcoz of this and everyone couldn't believe my comeback, I was the first student to cast news on the assembly ground without manuscript, once I get the news headlines the rest is flowless and since that moment I never see the crowd wey fit stop me... We should have been made to make presentation at our early age.

Use this as a learning curve to do better. It happens to everyone. It shows you need to step up and grow. I also had such experience, although mine was in 100 level during a presentation. People laughed at the beginning but I found a way to compose myself. Just keep working at it. You'll get there...

I could also remember when I was to defend a class project in front of 100+ coursemates too, I kept praying that the lecture should end before me but, na lie, it got to my turn and as I kept walking to the front of the class, my knee kept knocking each other but I summon courage and considered them to be the sunday school kids I do lecture on Sunday which were about 40+ kids and before you know it, claps here and there and I was like, this presentation shouldn't end cus when you make your audience to pay attention to you and you along the line crack jokes, and even argue with anyone that throws a question at you, you'll overcome that fear that's inside you and before you say Jack, some students will start paying you to assist them in some areas they don't know about..

In the church I will not give my testimony because of shy, the day I was asked to take open prayer, if was like the ground should open for me to fall inside but today a preacher. I can face any crowd.

It is a normal thing to have stage fright, if you want to remedy the phobia, do this.
1. Take a deep breath while on stage
2. If possible take bottle water, so that once you forget what to say or if the tension is building up, you drive water to relive yourself.
3. Focus your gaze on some selected audience.

I tried nunber 3 and it works for me. I will just pick some individual who are friendly to me, and am good to go. Even when ministering in the church.

U start learning all this from small gathering, from publicly reading verses of the bible, u start asking questions then come the boldness of contributing ur understanding to the general brethren bro u knew u get plenty liver to ask nd answer or air ur opinion nd believe u will be happy nd excited to be waisting time with questions and answers.

Two secrets of public speaking that has helped me over many years:

1. Once you speak with the microphone, you are in charge of the audience. Anything or most of what you ask them to do, they will do.

2. Avoid looking directly into the eyes of your audience. Look above their heads.

The first mistake you made was made in your mind.

You started off well and few mins into it, you panicked and your hormones took over. Fear.

Thing is, you could have done very well.
You were too scared to believe in yourself doing it well.

So, you failed in your mind already.
And, that's because you called it a big deal.

To speak well infront of a crowd, never call it a big deal.
Start off calmly, calmly...at some point, you will find your rhythm. From there, nature takes over.
Never try to speak fast or to try to sound like some other person.
Nature will give you your rhythm.

You didn't even complain that you've a stutter or some speech impediment. No.
You're really good to go. Next time, make sure you kill it.
You surely can.

Diazepam+ propanol combo would limit physical signs of fidgeting when taken 40 mins prior presentation. As you take this do some mental preparations beforehand. You can visit coaches for training too.

i had same problem years ago, though havent completely overcome it but i can talk without trembling like before.
look for Propranolol in any store near you, take a single pill 1hr before any presentation, it will seriously help you.

So sorry about this. It will go with time and practice. Don't run from it anymore. Try talking in front of few people, the. Increase it from der. This used to be me. I would freeze . But don't overthink it. Most importantly, be prepared for your presentation, practice practice practice. It will get better oooo.

You have what is called social anxiety disorder. Some call it social phobia. It is treatable with psychology therapy by a qualified cognitive behavioural therapist. Are you in Nigeria? If yes, I am not sure we have qualified therapists here. If you are outside the country, reply my quote here and I can direct you to where to get professional help. Within 12 sessions of therapy, you will be healed. Remember I said treatment by a qualified cognitive behavioural therapist,

One thing about public speaking is that, you’ve have to be prepared , if you’re truly not prepared don’t go up there, but I guess yours was out of necessity, it had to be done, unlike mine, though mine was different sha, I started attending this new church , like I was really serious with it, cus prior to that I haven’t been to church in 2years. I started beginners classes and workers classes in other to become a worker in church, Infact the pastor ,members and everybody was so impressed about my seriousness, Cus I look so street , beards and all. so I eascaped a very terrible accident that could have claimed my life when I was coming from work , y’all might remember, a particular story about a train almost crushing a bus on that iyana ipaja / ikeja railway , the bus I was in climbed over that railway to connect to iyana ipaja road. It was a narrow escape. I told myself I was gonna testify in front of everybody , first time in my life of wanting to speak in public . my mind warned me , but I said it’s God I must do it. That Sunday, testimony time I raised my hand, I came out, I started well just like you, halfway I started trembling, my lips were shaking , started sweating , it became so obvious to everybody that i wasn’t confident. I embarrassed myself so bad , didn’t even finish my testimony when I rushed back to my seat, That was my last time in that church, the pastor call me tire send me messages on WhatsApp, send me motivational videos, to encourage me cus they know that event was why I stopped coming, it was that bad! So I know how you feel bro!
