A one year project took five years to complete. That shows how low we go every year.

Yes indeed, Nigeria is rich in history and culture.

In spite of all our past and current challenges, the country still has the potential to become one of the greatest nations on this planet.

Good one. We the Indomie company are seeking for distributors in Portharcourt. If interested let me know at kaladajumbo74@gmail.com

What are your requirements for intending distributors?

Putting them here would save time, as those who cannot meet them will not bother to apply.

Did I read this correctly?

Yes, you did. The 2nd Niger Bridge cost ₦336 billion to build.

The project was funded through the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF) created by ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, and managed by the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA). .

So what are you insinuating that nothing good comes out of military regime?

Your perspective is certainly "out of the box".

How on earth you saw an insinuation that "nothing good comes out of military regime" up there is utterly baffling.

So the only way one could link Onitsha to and from Asaba is through the waterways before the Niger bridge was built.

Na so o my sister.

And many places still dey for dis we country o wey be like that.

You should have a registered business with CAC... And be able to start with between 200 to 500 cartons.

Man! See those classic cars in that photo.

Strange to think that everyone in the photo is probably already dead and gone.

If only bridges could talk, imagine with what tales the 1st Niger Bridge would regale us!

...of a prime minister cut down in his prime, just weeks after commissioning the bridge,
of merchants scurrying frenetically to and fro, buying goods from Eko to sell across the Niger,
of an internecine war that took millions of innocent souls,
of the bridge's bombing in 1968 during the war,
of jackboots trampling across to scuttle the people's democratic aspirations,
of democracy restored and hope renewed,

and finally,

of a concrete interloper rising from the waters to take the shine off its greyed glory.

Why is Nigerian roads always filled up with ugly looking cars?

If you want to really, really enjoy life, learn to look beyond the thorns and smell the roses.

A positive attitude truly works wonders - I can tell you this by experience.

No, it wasn't.

The first military coup in Nigeria happened on 15 January 1966, the month following the commissioning of the bridge.

In fact, the commissioning of the 1st Niger Bridge was the last public function of Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa, before he was killed in the coup.

Killed by the people he built a bridge for?
