Journalists must always remember that "Truth", "accuracy", and "objectivity" are the cornerstones of journalism ethics, a detachment from the ethics will amount to unprofessionalism, biases, and conflicts of the mind. While I understand that the spotlight falls on the individual journalists who use social media to build a reputation and followers that will allow them to either compete entrepreneurially in a precarious field or prove their worth as good representatives of the organization and journalism more widely, I think that human relationship, investigative journalism should be considered while featuring, publishing or trying to push news of urgency to the public without confirming the verismo of such news, this is in relation with recent defamation cases against your members, a sad re-occurrences that's fighting hard to damage the reputation built by ASKOMP over the years.

ASKOMP, why do I want you to read me for the last time? I am interested in reminding you of the need to take caution, money solves problems and it creates problems. As an independent body, there is a need to regulate the continuous embarrassment from politicians to members of your noble association, the dirty politicians in the state have successfully used your members to settle their unseen combats, it has happened, and it's happening. In law and leadership: when a custodian of law acts like one who knows no law, it becomes a crime. Did your members not know the gravity behind unverified news? Did they not know that it's important to be professional even in the face of money? You have been the voice of the people over the years, this is not the time to be used as an accident to reality.

I strongly agree that there is freedom of speech and manifestation of intention, but there must be caution to our limitations. In an interview with the BBC shortly after the Gujarat pogrom of 2002, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi was asked: “When you look back, do you think there is anything you should have done differently?” His response was clear and unvarnished: “Yes, one area where I was very weak, was how to handle the media.” That is the thought of average politicians, they always find a way to pocket journalists, here is another reason why your members need to take caution. Your loyalty should not call for losing your value, those you take bullets for won't call you when they settle their political war, you are the grass that's likely to suffer. Where I come from, my people used to say " igi gogoro magunmi lójú àti ókéré láti wọ." Penchant to blackmail should not be your hobby. I wish you could read me for the last time.
