Timothy Here Again,

It is not a new phenomenon that your ICAN Exam is very close and I hope that you have registered for it already. Do this before it turns out to be a rush-hour event where the ICAN site will no longer be available due to huge traffic on the domain.

So, if you are yet to register for the ICAN Exams, kindly do that today before it is too late.

Yes, it is 28 days to your Exams and in the quest to ensure that you pass at one sitting and qualify or move to the next level, we will be looking at the common mistakes students make a few weeks to the exams. Some of these study habits include:

1. Evening Studies: It may sound like a good idea at first, or maybe you’re just used to studying deep into the night. But you know that feeling of sheer mental exhaustion that kicks in a couple of hours into your nighttime studying? That’s because your brain is becoming overwhelmed with the amount of information it’s already processed during the day.

2. Cramming: This is one of the worst and most counterproductive methods of study. Why? Because you will cram everything into the exam hall hoping ICAN Examiner would play into your hands by asking a direct question which does not involve analysis and interpretation. It is like gambling with your exam success.

3. Unnecessary distractions: There are so many distractions that can slow you down and keep you occupied so much that you find your eyes and your focus wandering off to things that aren’t top priorities. Sometimes:

  * it’s a call from a friend, or

  * listening to the news, or

  * checking of notifications from the apps on your phone etc
