You are actually the one with a dead brain if you are still sticking out your neck for someone who have successfully moved over 180 million Nigerians into multidimensional poverty in just five months through his calamitous economic policies

A senseless supporter. A weak slave of the crude economic emperor. He has elected to be a fool forever; a perpetual fool. May he run when no one pursues him. Since he likes hardship, may his life in Nigeria be worse than living in Kedar.

Tinubu has taken Nigeria backwards. 87M poor in 2019, 133M in 2022, Now within few months, it has escalated to 187M. He likes power but lacks what it requires

Funny enough, Peter Obi's argument at the debate was for the complete and immediate removal of fuel subsidy. Today, he has walked back on that same argument simply because it was Bola Tinubu that implemented the full and immediate removal of fuel subsidy. He's now saying he would have done the same phased removal that PYO argued for. Those hyping here doesn't even seems to understand that they are exposing his hypocrisy and double speak.

Peter Obi has never said he is against the removal of Petrol subsidy but is critical of the approach and no plan to cushion the effect. Peter Obi's key was always stop subsidy and immediately channel the money towards alleviating critical areas that put pressure on family and human development capital.

Instead, what we are seeing is harsh removal of petrol subsidy by the current government and increase in cost in critical areas by the government. Also no move to alleviate suffering of the people.

U just speaking thru both sides of the mouth..doublespeak.
Is this govt not taking measures to alleviate the negative impact of subsidy removal via provision of CNG as alternative....how has it helped.

The ONLY RIGHT thing to do is to fix the local refinery- be it private or govt b4 the full removal of subsidy. Any other measures is simply theory, it will never work.
The removal of subsidy b4 fixing above is just a one way ticket to uncontrolled inflation.
Osinbajo was right, obi was just talking theory, that's why I never supported him.
Buhari wanted to eliminate subsidy, he got there and realised it's not possible.
Osinbajo who was an insider warned against sudden subsidy removal and the likely inflationary effect which will worsen the economic fortune of the people
Tinubu didnt believe in subsidy. Did his gragra, removed it and now we have 1 dollar selling for 1500.
Funny thing is Tinubu is back on subsidising fuel and I doubt he wil ever attempt eliminating subsidy again.
Na only osinbajo get sense among all of them, this is why I supported him.

Now that subsidy has been removed, did the price come down. The right thing to do was to fix a domestic refinery b4 eliminating subsidy.
Until then subsidy withdrawal should have been gradual.
Osinbajo was right. He was an insider and knew the impracticality of immediate subsidy removal, he warned against inflation if it's removed suddenly. No be wetin dey wreck Nigeria now...abi £1 no be 1500 now.
As for obi, even the throwbacks are exposing his ignorance in hindsight.

Fixing our refineries is not the way to go because it is proving to be a conduit for easy looting of our resources. The way to go is massive empowerment of modular refineries and support the development of others.

Peter Obi, like Tinubu, was wrong then and is still wrong now.

Fuel subsidies exist because of the falling value of the Naira.

The Naira falls because the government consumes all its earnings from crude oil and has no savings (excess crude account). This is why the currencies of other oil rich nations have not fallen like the Naira in recent times.

Other countries do not consume all their earnings. The real culprit that has brought Nigeria to its knees is our lack of savings culture.

Obasanjo created the excess crude account to moderate Government’s spending. Unfortunately, all the money was squandered by subsequent governments.

Just have refining capacity of crude at home. Simple.
Take this to the bank....
No govt I repeat no government, irrespective of it's determination will ever remove fuel subsidy without doing the above.

Be specific.
Investigating what, plugging what leakages? How long will this investigation take?
So obi wouldn't remove the subsidy b4 the investigation is complete? What if the investigation takes 2 yrs?

I'm sure u talking g like this b4 u are obi fan. U know all these investigation and blocking leaks will come to nothing.
Nigeria is too complex for all these one man show effect. Nigeria is not Anambra where a governor can be giving orders from his tables and the whole state will be shaking.
Ordinary NNPC will mess Obi up as president, not to talk about the leaks going on in nigerdelta in conjunction with the Nigerian navy. This alone will take years to fix if he's ready to risk all- including his presidency and go against the gladiators.
That was how people were hyping fashola because of wonders he did as governor in Lagos only for him to get to Abuja and be lamenting up and down. He was in power for 8 yrs as minister, I can't talk of a single achievement credited to him.

Peter Obi always said that the consumption rate of Petrol was false and that is what he will first undertake. He said from his calculation, we are consuming less than half of what is actually stated. To him, that is were a big chunk of the fraud is happening. Take that out and then you will have less expenses on petroleum subsidy.

Invest this into key critical areas to boost local production (note, that this also includes improved power generation and local petroleum products). Also investing in other areas like reducing the cost of education and health care. Then go to nullify the petroleum subsidy. The subsidy must go is not mounting the inauguration stage and shouting no more subsidy.

The leak goes on because many in power are party to it. When you have a President that does not have time for stealing for himself and family, a lot of mess up will not go on. The reason why NNPC and co. can mess up other Presidents is because they have a hand in the loot. As for Peter Obi, they can't try it because he is not a thief.
