Baseless emotional blackmail.

The money must be refunded to the very account it was sent from.

This is anti money laundry policy.

The fault is yours for allowing your account to remain dormant. You ought to have reactivated it.

Sorry but it will be hard to get your money back except the bank just pities you.

Exactly. The school has even been magnanimous enough to send to a Polaris account and not the GTB it came from.

But why was the GTB account closed and it cant receive money again?

Maybe it should be reopened and the money sent to the original account it left from instead of all these back and forth
The owner of the GTB account might have been running international money transfers as an unlicenced agent.

This one looks like money laundering 101.

You sent money to the school via UK akant, but you wan collect am back via Naija akant. Aunty, it's like your head is paining you cheesy

How about another interpretation. You scammed someone in the UK and used the scam proceed to pay tuition deposit. Now you want the school route the money to your akant in Nigeria so you can cash out.

The idiott even have the audacity to drag Polaris bank into her madness.

If you are not hiding anything, tell d school to send the money back to the original UK account that help you pay the school fees. Then tell the account owner to send the money back to you in Naija.

I mean, I shouldn't have to be giving a sell acclaimed Crypto expert this advice.

Which one is now calling someone idiot.. undecided

This story get k leg. She is not telling the whole truth, she won use her hand bring her leg come outside. This might not end well for her. She will end up shooting herself on the foot. Everbody won trend. Banks has rules and regulations i remembered 10 years back i went to uba bank ogba branch in lagos for money gram 1k dollars the lady pulled the money out but she mistakenly switch my drivers licence the guy before me left with my licence and left his behind. The bank said they are going to send the money back because they havent made photocopy of my drivers licence. I didnt argue with them because i be wise man and i know wetin dey. They sent the money back and my friend in the US send the money again using my cousin drivers licence. 2 days later they called me to come and collect my licence back the guy brought it back

International anti-money laundry law requires that funds must go back to where it came from. Neither the school nor the bank is at fault here.
I suspected it must be a policy the bank is following.

In as mush as the bank wasn’t seizing the money from her.

At first it was her laziness and ignorance that made her initially not to open a domiciliary account at the first place to pay her tuition fee from there.
It doesn’t take up to 2hrs to open a dom acct oo. I blame it on her

Dou according to her the UK account wasn’t functioning anymore. That’s even no1 red flag from the story or to the UK university.

Re: Aggrieved Customer Calls Out Polaris Bank Over UK School Tuition Refund Impasse by onatisi(m): 7:19am On Nov 30, 2023
but it seems the standard banking policy of all banks globally is to return funds back to the same account it was sent from, that seems to be a safety measure in order to prevent fraud and the customer, i don't think Polaris has done anything wrong in this regard. since they didn't send the funds originally, they may not want to be refunded and it seems such actions by banks usually carry heavy cbn punishment if anything goes wrong

There is always exceptions and the bank made that exception based of the fact the original bank is closed.

Polaris bank do not even have a say on this. Bank account is to receive deposit or withdraw money. It is no concerns of theirs how the money got in if it is not stolen. They can be sued for that loss. No policy support that. Only the school need to do their due diligence. The bank can only act to protect the school if the school reported the account.

How is their family affected by the money when they were ready to send it to the university? Was their family going to be catered to by the university?

This is a story that is throwing punchlines for sentimental readers. They should stick with the facts.

What is your brand?

This is the simple explanation. Surprised people are advising she should call out the bank on all social media. I read all she wrote, amd her transactions are complex. She should contact whoever made the payment for her to reactivate his bank account so she could receive her refund. She should have also added reason this third party's account is no longer functioning

It is the Uni that is refunding her money, and not the bank. Now think of it what if it is fraudulent request? I mean someone uses her name to ask the Uni to refund to a different account number?
That is why they always refund to same account number that paid them, so it shows received from account A to our Uni is being paid back to the same account A (which is Refund)
Thank you sir.
