I just finish reading how dstv and gotv has increased their price and cant help but share this here.

I think its high time we boycot this paytv's and flow with fta which is very affordable unless you are living comfortable. I don't have a solution for football lovers but football is not everyday so we can be watching it outside during weekends. What i'm going to share is not hearsay, i'm actually using it presently.

There is this free to air satelite that covers a whole lot, installers in the house can help with name, the channels on it include

NTA SPORTS


TVC NEWS

ALJEJERA

BBC

HI NOLLY(strickly
nollywood movies)

HIGLOBAL(american mother)

Most state owned tv stations

With this setup, i have 600+ channels which are entirely free to air.

I forget my best channel which is korean movies and joy prime.

so apart from live football, i don't see any need to subscribe dstv to be watching repeatative programmes. hopes this help.

How does this work? You have three dishes, do you connect them all to one decoder or how exactly? I never even use two dishes at same time before

Yes. Dstv dish is most preferred for fta, only one of it can can access to most channels i put up there. If you have a dstv dish already, buy a strong decoder and you are good to go.

YES. I connect everything to a single decorder using a discq. Any installer can do it for you.

Do this connection and thank me later, buy a big dish(like dstv or any one that have same size with the blue dstv dish) then get a small dish with a strong decorder and you will watch everything you like for free. The setup cost me close to 30k that time but it is worth it

Are you sure you coupled it well?

1. Look for any house that has a dstv installed. Observe where the dish is facing and position your dish in that direction too.

2. Connect your co-axial cable from the lnb to your decorder. Btw which decorder are you using?

3. Connect your tv and your decorder to a power source. Also connect your av cable from your decorder to the tv.Your screen will show no signal.

4. Press "menu" button on your decorder remote, your tv screen will display many options. If nothing shows up, check your av cable connection and remote battery. Its just same as connecting a dvd. If your menu page displayed, you are good.

5. Select the "installation" icon on the tv using your decorder remote.

6. If asked for a password, just press 0000 and the installation page will open. If u are not asked for password, you are still good. Just open the "installation" icon.

U just started

8. You will see many satelite names on your screen depending on your decorder type. Navigate to a satelite of your choice and press ok.

9. You will see a dropdown menu. A yellow,red,green and blue. Check the color and has "add tp" and press the same key color on your decorder remote. Then another sub-window will open.

10. Where you see frequency, input 12245. Where you see symbol rate input 27500, where you see polarization change it to H. Then press ok

If you can do this 10steps. You are good to go

Now go back to where you mount your dish.

1. Make sure the pole on which you mount the dish is straight.

2. Your lnb should be at 9 o'clock.

3. There are some nuts at the sitting of your dish, loosen them so that you can be able to move your dish both horizontally and vertically.

4. Remember to keep your tv where you can see the screen well when holding your dish.

5. Now you must have seen two lines on your screen, one will indicate quality while anothe will indicate strength. Be watching those lines carefully.

6. Start moving your dish up and down slowly, if nothing changes on the two lines on your screen, you move your dish to your right small, the continue your slow up and down movement. When you see that the position in which you saw the already installed dstv is far from your fish, start moving it to your left while repeating the slow up and down movement.. Just make sure that you cheat every angle in that position and i believe you will get signal.

Getting signal means the two lines on your tv screen will increase and shown in percent at the extreme end of each line.

If you can do this, mention me. I will prefer you add pictures. Thank you

Which decorder are you using? Any free to air decorder that you press menu on your remote control, the installation icon should appear.
