We all know that IPOB wants Nigeria to break apart and they're using both rhetorics and actions in pursuing that objective. They have remained a constant threat to Nigeria's hope of forging ahead as one country. However, 2023 election and Tinubu's desperation to win by all means have shattered the little unity Nigeria was managing.

The military may have been bad and corrupt, but one thing you can't deny was the efforts they made to reunite Nigeria after the war. From 1970 till 1999, they used every opportunity to promote national unity and ethnic balance to an extent.

When they handed over power to civilians in 1999, Obasanjo, being a former military general also continued on that path of fostering national unity. Ethnic, tribal and religious sentiments was successfully deemphasized from national politics under his government. Yaradua took over from him and maintained that balance and same with Jonathan. Then, Buhari came and reversed it all. He promoted his Fulani tribesmen and Islam above all. His actions coincided with rise of IPOB activities, and naturally, they gained more followers who felt Nigeria wasn't inclusive for all.

If 2015 to 2023 was bad, then 2023 seems it's going to be very ugly. Nigerians thought the next president after Buhari will begin the healing process and reverse the damages by Buhari. But alas, Tinubu's desperation to win election elevated it to never-seen-before height. He promoted tribalism to pre civil war levels. He used tribal war cries and phrases on the national stage.

Today, after using tribal bigotry and religious sentiments to win election, he has discovered he will also need them to sustain himself. Currently, ethnic nationalism is at all time high.

Now, one can't tell between IPOB and Tinubu, who is doing the most damage on the brand called Nigeria?

The Nigerian politicians are the main characters that divided the country the more.

He is not acting alone. There are many of such handles Tinubu and his men are using to promote tribalism. They know that if there is no tribalism and religious bickering, Nigerians won't be distracted anymore and thus will start questioning his maladministration.

Nigerian unity? No such thing exists, so theres no Nigerian unity for IPOB to destroy
