Years ago, you will buy yams and they won't go bad for months.

But reverse is the case currently. You will buy a yam and by next week, you will discover it has started to spoil.

I heard that most yams no longer have heads, the farmers remove the heads so they can plant it. This act makes the yams not to last in good shape.
