I have guys that finished their Bsc from there and have gone abroad for their post graduate studies, I also have 3 professors from federal universities who are currently students there, running other programmes.
1. BSc to doing postgraduate abroad is a smart move. That's good. A certificate to move forward.
2. A professor has made something good for himself. The person only wants another certificate from his present discipline to do something else (maybe his passion).

So, you too can see that NOUN is mostly about getting that paper. A progressive move. I can employ that guy who furthers his study with it elsewhere, and definitely, the professor is already smart. Both men are only after the paper to do something. The professor may be studying theology there...lol...and might be a professor of engineering. Gat it? Just for the "pali" sake.

I cannot employ fresh graduate because I have checked them well, and over 95% who graduated from NOUN do not gain much knowledge. They don't usually perform well..meaning that the teaching methods adopted there aren't excellent.

Get the cert and use it to upgrade yourself. Thats it. And learn more.

Nigeria is hard....so if it's the only way to quickly get a first degree, it is fine. But I don't respect anyone who attends NOUN. I have not met one single person who passed through their department of computer science and can code well. If you know one, I would love to discuss with the person how he learned it well. Lol..

U may be right, and u may not at the same time. 80% of those who finished as computer scientists from conventional universities know nothing about coding. I can bet that too. All universities in Nigeria use outdated curriculum. Which university in Nigeria teaches coding with all these new generation programming languages such as C++, C#, python, PHP etc?
How many professors of computer science can code with python, the simplest programming language?
Lecturers at conventional universities will go online to download NOUN's study materials for their students, how's there a difference between NOUN and conventional universities? Dont forget they use same curriculum, which is out of date.

See this one wey dey play grin, NOUN has a lot of intelligent students you can ask any NOUN graduate. NOUN is more of a research-oriented institution and it has helped my career. I am currently working on transformer models for Deep learning projects like time series models for predicting economic events, LLM, and GAN (Generative Adversarial Network).
Meanwhile, I will be launching my apps soon stay tuned to NLand cool

There is no school with such name in Ghana .

And know this and know peace . There are no Ghanaian Universities officially operating in Nigeria. Its the same fraudulent Nigerians who are using the Ghanaian University names as decoy. Moreover, the Nigerian commission simply wants to smear Ghana into this dirty news. Eventually , they can't and they know. Many nigerians who couldn't graduate here went to benin and Togo and get their degree in about a month and found theirself doing your NYSC.

You are right in a way. By the way, I studied abroad...both undergraduate and post.

However, I noticed that the tension of a real Nigerian institution will drain you to force yourself to learn it. UNILAG and some other universities use modern languages. This I know. The way they teach it is nonsense, but I know that some serious students go to NIIT and now there are online resources to learn modern languages. But I cannot say this with NOUN. Those who don't even step inside classes. grin No one even motivates you to want to do it. They don't even know what is going on in the industry. Noun students are just there to get the certificate. Their minds aren't in what they are studying. Lol. This is my point bro.

By the way...bro...I was on a thread and they were saying Nigerian professors are underpaid..I was like...they are even overpaid. If most professors don't know Python, how can they really go into AI? Anyway, there are some UNILAG doctors and profs I know...they are into machine coding and they work with oil firms. They are cashing out big time. Those don't have time for strikes. This was what I told them...if a professor is good at what he does, his salary is just a chicken change. Lol. Most people here do not agree...they were busy insulting FG, and some other lecturers came on board and started defending their inefficiencies. I laughed...and I told them that...they are olodos. Na that olodo one mod kuku ban me. I smiled. Lesson learned. I will not try to make a failure to see where he goes wrong. Let him just prosper "higher and higher" in his failure. grin
