Many opposed his appointment because he did not have military background
I did not subscribe to that
I still do not think that matters
But personal I question whether Ribadu is up to the job
His background AS a Fulani man is a concern AS Fulani Herdsmen go on rampage
Buhari was slow to make changes in the Security services . I think Tinubu whole act differently by showing he is prepared to sack people who are not performing

No Fulani man is suppose to be NSA at this point where Fulanis are the greatest security threat to the Nigerian state

Do you guys know what ribadu did for Tinubu before he compensated him with an appointment as a NSA?

When ribadu was the chairman of EFCC,there were several petitions written to him to investigate tinubu's ill-gotten wealth. He told the petitioners to come forward with evidence.
Meanwhile,he didn't seek for evidence to prosecute yahoo boys.

Although the NSA is the clearing house of all security issues in Nigeria, I honestly didn't give him a chance because I have some fears, about him been able to emotionally withstand some scenarios... So far he has been very reactive , I also want to believe he has been proactive too.. Security entails a lot of things, most are not even visible to your naked eyes ...but his ability to preempt certain scenarios might help ... A regular security audit of certain locality might do the trick, because I know their is no Jungle in Nigeria you won't find people... And people are the cause of insecurities.

Jake Sullivan, USA's National Security Adviser doesn't even have any security agencies background and barely in his 40s. To become a national security adviser really doesn't mean that you even need to have a security agencies background.

First I am not sure you read and comprehended what you quoted
Second The National Security Adviser in America does not perform a similar function to that of Nigeria.
The only thing similar is the title
So perhaps you should educate yourself not only of their function but Origin under the military government
In the US the NSA does not operate a budget outside the presidency or conduct any of the functions that he does in Nigeria e.g exercising control over airspace, firearms licensing and direct operational activities with control of men, materiel and Money.
In the US the role is exactly what it says ADVISER.
In Nigeria it is a lot more than that . E.g. Dasuki under Jonathan was involved in movement of cash from the CBN etc. In the US. The NSA is limited to the White House and has no operational involvement with state governors
We saw Ribadu seating with Wike and Fubara to sign agreement
More importantly America has stronger institutions than we do. It is not possible for NSA to go to the Treasury and carry away cash like Dasuki did
So there is no basis for comparing the two. None whatsoever

I think he can move him to NDLEA he will be more effective there.
This position is not one for compensation. People are dying everyday

Smh. All those stories yet you don't even comprehend the similarities.

Below is the core duty of the US National Security Adviser's job to the US nation. Notice how he chairs the NSC meetings in the absence of the President. Imagine Jake Sullivan chairing a National Security Council meeting where Gen Austin (rtd) , Secretary of Defense and Anthony Blinken( Secretary of State) are in attendance, that's a huge place to be. Yet he has not even a police background like Mallam Ribadu. John Bolton, the NSA of Trump era had a military background even though not up to the retired General level but Jake Sullivan doesn't even have any at all.

He or she has other jobs that now deal directly with the US President like planning his travels, national security plans, speeches etc

It is unfortunate that someone without the requisite experience is heading Nigeria security architecture.
Nuhu Ribado is an expert in fraud detection and prevention no doubt but on issues of intelligence, he is not.
More of a square peg in a round hole.
Re: Do You Believe In Nuhu Ribadu As National Security Adviser? by Gajagojo: 9:55am On May 13
I am disappointed with his results so far
It is nothing to do with round peg in square hole

We have had so many so called square pegs that have led us to the current situation
By the way he is not an expert in fraud
He is a policeman
and is qualified to do he job like any other senior policeman
The issue is not qualification
There are trained generals who fail at war
There are trained professionals who fail in every single profession in the world
doctors, lawyers, engineers and so on
They do not fail because they are not qualified

An NSA may be qualified and still fail because of ethnic bias, religious bias, politic bias , corruption or laziness.

Look e.g at the handling of the escape of the Binance executives

No one has been punished
That entrenches a culture of unaaccountability and indolence
