Jombo Foundation Offers Scholarship To 52 Indigent Students In Abia


The Kelvin Jombo Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), has offered different categories of scholarship to no fewer than 52 indigent students in Abiriba Community, Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State.

The Foundation announced the scholarship during the new year crossover service at the country home of the founder, Chief Kelvin Jombo Onumah.

The scholarship beneficiaries included 35 final year students, tuition fees for the newly admitted students of higher institutions and purchase of WAEC and NECO application forms for Senior Secondary School (SS3) students.

Speaking at the event, Onumah who is the Chief Executive Officer of Sublime Industries Ltd said the scholarship was born out of his quest to ease the burden of their parents and encourage education in the community and the state.

He said the Foundation was to drive his commitment and passion to give back to society, nurture, and train individuals with untapped potential to help them realize their aspirations.

The philanthropist said the foundation which was established in 2010 placed strong emphasis on capacity development, education, social reorientation, crime reduction through job creation and empowerment.

"Kelvin Jombo Foundation has lived up to expectations in the past one decade.

"We are passionate about the progress of our youths, that is part of the reasons we committed to bridging the gap in education and to helping the less opportuned to have access to acquiring education to at least to university level," he said.

NewMonitor reports that the foundation has executed several projects in in the areas of health, education, infrastructure and empowerment in Abiriba, the Abia state and beyond.
