New shock absorbers and tokumbo abeg which should i go for by udede(m): 12:00pm On Jan 08
My car is a brand of Toyota Corolla. It now has issues with the shock absorbers. My problem now is that i don't know what to go for.

Should I replace them with "tokumbo" shocks or with brand new ones.
Remember that the available new ones around here are China made.
What do you advise ?

I think this has to do with your mechanic, he should get you a good one if he is honest with you cos the new ones has grade while the one you call tokunbo could be a new one used but not yet worn out and I don’t think there is any way you could confirm that cos all Toks are used. My mechanic buys me well graded new ones.

As a spare parts professional I'll suggest new ones. Reasons are simply; most of tokunbo shock absorber in the market are work-work (especially Toyota).

Go for new one. Some motor parts are better when bought new than tokumbo because you don't know how it was used by it's previous owner or if it was refurbished. Shock is one of them.

Used shocks except you were there when they removed it from a tokumbo car. Otherwise it’s Nigeria used shocks that was worked on.

China used is far better. And more costly

Please, I'll advise you go for a new one. Reworked shocks are many in the market.
