I usually doubt my dad whenever he wants to cook for the family, but my mum knew he could cook better than her, so she would always look for excuses like" epele! Se mope esese de lati ibise ni, so mi fe ke stress ara yi rara, Ema worry ma se. Which means "sorry! You know you just arrived from work, so i dont want you to stress yourself at all, dont worry i will do it"
However, we later discovered our father's culinary talent when my mum had serious malaria and was very weak to cook for the family. My dad just called i and my sister to the kitchen to come and assist him in some petty things. Myself and my sister were already salivating even when the food was yet to be done. My dad prepared a super delicious egusi soup made with palmoil and some orisirisi inside the soup and crowned with a swallow of semovita. I swear when my mom ate the food, her malaria disappered and never returned.

So, what are we to do with that or rather, of what use is this information to the society?

Lol grin grin.. this Op is funny.

Though what he said and the way he put it might sound childish but there's an element of truth in it and I can relate a bit

First, some men are good in cooking and may even be better cooks than their wife's but because they are not given the chance to display their culinary skills everyone now believes men generally can't cook or their wife's are better cooks.

Another thing I noticed with men's cooking is that they are more judicious with condiments and other side attractions in their food making it more rich and inviting. They spend extra to put all the orisirisi in their soup unlike our mothers who are misers and will be managing everything and sometimes pack plenty water inside the soup or stew to last for days grin.

The day I knew my father was a pro cook was one certain time my Mom stubbornly travelled to the village with all of us. When it was time for common entrance, my dad came and picked only my twin and I with our eldest and left the rest with my Mom in the villa to enjoy their break.

Back to the matter. When we got back, my dad didn't let us enter the kitchen. The first meal he prepared was beans. Me that didn't like beans from time ate that beans and was requesting for more.. till my Mom came back, my dad was just cooking delicious and sumptuous meals back to back for us.
The week my Mom came back hahahahaha me and my twin vex ehn angry. LoL... grin grin bad shidren..
