Jesus, The Flesh And The Temptations. by ocnovakmichael(m): 7:19am On Jan 28
It was 5:09 PM on 27th January 2024, I started out from FoodCity where I went for recreation. On my way to the fellowship I began meditating in my mind and I quiz the Lord on how a man could walk in the light of the word and keep his body under subjection in todays world where alluring evil lurks in every corner.
Today we see, in broad daylight, women on bra and pants advertised on giant wall papers and banners in our streets without any iota of restraint or consideration: little boys and girls walk on our streets with this photographic images starring them in the face. The smart phones in the hands of the young and the old has become an amphitheatre for practically all sorts of demonstrable sexual pervasion.

In reply, the Lord began to speak to me concerning my ask, no, not in an audible voice, but within my spirit.
The Lord said to me "Many think I walked the earth without temptations." He said, "When I walked the earth, I was tempted like every man."
When the Lord said that, I understood immediately what he was talking about. Then he said to me, " I wouldn't tell you to do something I haven't done."
The Lord went a step further in saying, "I by my Spirit spake through Paul when he wrote:
but I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection..."

You see, in the days when the Lord Jesus walked the earth, he was the most influential young man of that day. People trudge in droves to meet him and to be in his company. Women, I mean beautiful women, perhaps, threw themselves on him: some to walk in truth with him, some to tempt him.
Now an intelligent person would ask: how did you know some women threw themselves unto him to tempt him? My response this question would be, how did you know they didn't? Yet again, show me an influential young minister on earth today who women don't desire as their partner? There is practically none. Then why do think it will be different for our Lord Jesus when he walked on earth? We get a glimpse on this in Bible.
Mark 15:40-41
[40]There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;
[41](Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto himwink and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.

Notice the last clause, "... And many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem." Put somewhat differently, if those women were with him in the our of his death, how much more will they besiege him when he was in his prime, so to speak?

What am I getting to? In that conversation with the Lord, he taught me how to overcome the temptation of the flesh: these very words were impressed in my spirit while I was meditating, "In my day, I was tempted like every other man, but I put under my body, I keep it under subjection."
The Lord then reminded me of Hebrews 4:15

[15]For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Notice the phrase, "In all points tempted as we are..."

Having heard that, I understood why he said to me, " " I wouldn't tell you to do something I haven't done."
The Lord Jesus was tempted in all points like we are, yet he was without sin because through the Spirit that is in him, he kept his body under subjection.
1 Corinthians 9:27
[27]But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Romans 8:13
[13]For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Colossians 3:5
[5]Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

The three scriptures above gives us a scope on how Jesus through the Spirit was able to overcome the flesh and was without sin.

Friend, many great men who fell, fell because they couldn't keep their body under. The likes of Samson, Solomon, Amnon the son of David etc. The fact about it is that we cannot overcome fleshly desires by the arm of flesh, but we can bring the flesh under subjection by the Spirit. And by the Spirit I don't mean some erry spooky reality, rather I mean we can put the flesh under subjection by the Spirit through the word of God: because the Spirit and the word agree in one.

Zechariah 4:6
[6]Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

After my conversation with the Lord, at the fellowship, like a coincidence, the presider nudged me to speak on how to mortify the body through the spirit. I was surprised because this is the very topic I just got through relating with the Lord and he taught me how.
The Lord was preparing me for what was about to come in the fellowship. He knew the topic to be treated, and he prepared my heart for it.

Jeremiah 17:5-6
[5]Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
[6]For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
