Several Lagos State governors have tried to demolish Makoko but intervention from higher authority and international pressure made it impossible Now that one of the governors is the president of Nigeria, I'm thinking that Makoko days are numbered The place is a big embarrassment to the state government. Ironically, Makoko would bring high returns in revenue to Lagos if it is reclaimed. Majority of the inhabitants are foreigners from Benin republic and Togo.
