How To Make Election Transparent And Improve Governance by BALLOSKI: 6:07pm On Jan 30
I made these suggestions somewhere, even before some of these cases were determined at the supreme court and thought to share for more inputs.

I hope the distinguished senators can have a look at these suggestions to help improve electoral process.

1. The thin film besides logo of political party on the ballot paper - where you thumbprint and it captures your picture and stores it, so we know who actually voted and this number is truly downloaded and computed. Not electronic transmission, electronic download that can take place with or without network. If you thumbprint, it stamps your picture to the ballot paper - this can only be revealed in case of dispute by inec officials to protect the identity of voters and their choices. So we know those who truly voted and ballot paper number assigned to them. The stamping of the picture is done facedown or like a slip with picture on it - this can be only opened by INEC. Or it saves your ballot paper with your picture and serial number.

2. The voting platform should have some cameras that sees or records the proceeding of the PU.

3. Policeman/men assigned to every PU or guarding electoral materials should wear a body camera well positioned to capture his own activity and that of people at the PU. Once this camera is off, it signals for him to put it back on.

4. Election should be held 9 months before inauguration so court case can be done with before inauguration.

5. The off-cycle election should be realigned , as these off season elections are festering ground for power that be to rig simply because they hold the center or power.

6. States should not be allowed to conduct LGs election , since the ruling power always win everywhere by rigging. LGs should have autonomy.

7. Cases that stops at appeal court, if similar case made it to the supreme and it's decided in opposite of what the lower court decided, those affected by the decision of the lower court should be considered for the benefit due to those who the judgment favor at the apex court.

Or,

8. Those cases that stop at appeal, there should be a provision for supreme court to review the judgment, especially if it's not in agreement with precedent of the apex court, not by proper court sitting, but by administrative review. Then they can decide the right judgment.

9. In an error of INEC that leads to cancellations of elections or rerun, salaries of INEC staff should be used as part of funds to conduct the election. INEC staff should lose their salary in any infractions that compromises the process.

10. If as a governor, you have done 8 years, if you have done well, built infrastructure that can last 30 years, generated IGR, obeyed court orders and not caught in any corruption case, after 16 years of leaving office, that individual should contest again. If the constitution can be amended in this regards.

11. The president should not have the power to appoint INEC chairman.
