Students dey try these days. FUTO acceptance fee for medical students is over 200K. This does not include school fees, accommodation and other sundry fees. Year one medical students spend around 600k in total

During my days in school, school fees was 20k, department dues was 1k. Faculty was N1,500 and association was N500.

We need to find away to improve our educational infrastructure, then attract foreign students charge them $2000 which is relatively cheap and use that to subsidies education for intelligent locals who meet certain GPA requirements

N169K for Medical school and you are asking if it is too much? It's too little. That's why these schools are producing mediocre and semi-educated products. Medical school is very expensive anywhere in the world.

170000 naira is just about 110-120 dollars. And it is on that that we expect our universites to look like Oxford and Cambridge, where they pay far higher than that.
