One of the many reasons I'm scared of religious people, especially Pentecostals. The other day one woman in Akwa Ibom abandoned her kid on the vague assumption of witchcraft. Luckily, the child is currently being raised by a Danish woman. Someone could just accuse you of being the reason his prayers don't get answered. No basis, no evidence, just stupid assumptions. Some people despise their parents and loved ones because some fake men have told them they're behind their miserable ordeals. Misfortunes don't need any reason to happen, but people will always find ways to explain the inexplicable. May God guide us right.

englishmart:Religion is no excuse for this. This is clearly a case of two people who refused to use their individual brains jamming Religion. I don't see how Religion is to blame for any of it. The woman had opportunities to turn things around, particularly when she first noticed the man was becoming unhinged but she didn't.  |

englishmart:Gone are the days when people could argue that Religion was imposed on people in society. These days Religion has become nothing but a choice to be made by individuals. So, for an adult man and woman to choose to allow Religion to jeopardize their lives, they, not Religion, are to blame. |

Kobojunkie:In a case where kids are indoctrinated from birth, you can't say religion is not imposed on people in society. How many people have the liberty to change their religion? If everyone was allowed to get to the right thinking age before introducing them to religion, then would your submission be apt. The lies they've been exposed to from childhood have sunk so deeply into them that nothing can expunge them. |

Unless those kids were also forced to live inside a cave sealed away from contact with the rest of humanity for all of their childhood, there is still no valid reason why religion should take the blame for a grown man or a woman refusing to use his of her brain. No reason at all! 2. The thing about lies is that they are easily detected once one remains in contact with other human beings. Even much easier once one begins asking thorough knowledge questions. It is almost impossible not to find them out. What one chooses to do after receiving that revelation is something else though. Most religious folks already know they labor in vain but because of peer precious, fear of being cast out by other members of their religious group, or even fear of possibly missing out, they continue to hold on just for the sake of it.
