Obasanjo on how he navigated dealing with the World Bank and the dynamics of his economic team. It's a low bar, I know, but OBJ remains Nigeria's best ever president.

As I said yesterday, the problem is not the World Bank or the IMF, but the quality of the country's leadership. Hating the West for our problems is the woke trend in vogue, I know, still, we must learn to situate our problems properly....

Neocolonialism, Neocolonialism, but Ngozi still remains one of the best brains we have exported out of our country. She has nothing to prove to detractors.

I saw that post. I deliberately kept away as soon as I started reading some poorly informed dissenting opinions.

I have covered the Brettonwoods institutions as a journalist with full accreditation and access for 25 years. I have attended every IMF/World Bank annual and spring meetings twice every year for this 25 years which makes it 50 times across 22 countries.

I've watched China, Japan and India muscle their ways through the voting system. I have watched Brazil push through some reforms. I have gained institutional knowledge.

First time I met Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and interviewed her was in 2002 when she was Secretary of the World Bank. Infact she was the first top management staff I interviewed. That was 22 years ago.

There are things that are not for public debate that's why oftentimes one keeps away from some debates.

OBJ is still the most informed, enlightened and globally nuanced President Nigeria has had.

Very true. Nepotism is the number one reason the apc government has struggled to make anything significant in Nigeria. Go back to President Buhari`s appointments and take a look at the current president`s appointment and you`ll see how nepotistic these two leaders have been. They`re ready to handover sensitive ministries to their brothers not minding their level of experience.
