Embarking On A Blockchain Development Journey: A Learner's Diary by upNrunning: 1:46pm On Feb 26
Hi everyone,

I recently embarked on a journey into the world of blockchain development and decide
d it'd be a great idea to update my progress here. I started learning block chain development 3 weeks ago and so far learning has been has been cool . Initially, It was confusing but gradually, things started to make sense.

So after searching the internet for several days i finally found a block chain couse on youtube. Most of the popular couse I found were paid but after a deep search I finally found a free course on youtube. Theres this youtube channel " dapp university" that has a couple of tutorials on block chain development. For now that's what I will be using .

This isn't my first attempt at learning a programming skill . There was a time I did
C programming for about 8 months before I later quit due to some reasons, I also did a little of html and css and js after some time I stopped and I decided to try block chain development. This time around we go all the way. I believe the little knowledge I have before will help me in this present journey.

Learning using the video from the course on youtube has not been easy although, the video is for beginners but as a person new to smart contracts etc I find it a little bit challenging. After many hours of reading and continues learning I finally began to understand.

After 3 weeks I finished the first video of the tutorial .I learnt introduction to things like: Solidity
Smart contract
Flash loan
Ethers.js
Mapping
Reentrancy attacks
Non fungible tokens
Fungible tokens etc

My goal is to complete the entire couse on that tutorial over the next 4 months, dedica ting 12 hours everyday to learning.
Im excited about the prospect of learning and connecting with programmers and block chain developers on this platform.

Don't be a dev because it's not for you

Why did you say this

Hey

On the same line as you, though I am coming from Java.

I started Solidity about 2 months ago, focusing on Ethereum. You seem to have covered way more.

Please keep sharing your journey log

If your goal is Golang-based blockchain technology then you really do not need Solidity, however, if you looking to create dAPP that will require smart contracts on ETH networks you need it.

Solidity is a programming language optimized for writing smart contracts

Na to get study materials be wahala

Dive into technical writing and write stuffs on block chain and building on Solana and Eth

Don't be a dev because it's not for you

If you insists on being a dev , become a game dev and build web3 games
"Don't be a dev because it's not for you" ... How did you come to this conclusion? Wahala

Lol

Maybe he should have been a bit subtle with it, but it is okay to hear things like this sometimes. It help one to re-evaluate one self from time to time and stay focus.

Like is dev really for me? The answer i gave myself is the goal, beside blockchain technical writing is a big deal too. I just happen to love backend dev though it is not yet paying me as it isπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜…
