It has becoming increasingly difficult to secure a job in Nigeria, Are there still individuals landing LUCRATIVE jobs in Nigeria?

How did you handle it?

Could you share so we can all learn from one another?

You can share your experiences outside Nigeria as well.

Getting a job in Nigeria is extremely difficult especially for fresh graduate, securing a job has been hard as most organization require many years of school experience.

I find networking the easiest way to get a job. Recently, I learnt two things:

๐Ÿ“Œ If recruiters find you exceptional, they will create space for you on a team. Nobody ignores value.

๐Ÿ“ŒChip it into conversations: If youโ€™re transitioning, tell people about it. If youโ€™re seeking job opportunities, let them know.

Above all, mindset is really important. If you think there are no jobs, then there isnโ€™t.

Leverage on job sites like LinkedIn and showcase your skills. I believe people out there would need them

You see having the right skillset in this time and age is something a jobseeker should look out for, the time of traditional jobs is slowly becoming obsolete as of late, it's just that presently in Nigeria we've not actually adapted to this ''age''. We are still far behind.

So how does it relate to jobseekers, if you are a jobseeker reading this right now, you need to develop yourself a bit more to match the global job opportunities abound.

For instance now, an accountant that studied in Nigeria to be an accountant, later on got a job to be an accountant is actually different from an accountant that studied in the UK to become an accountant in the UK.

I hope you getting me, right?

So let say, you are Medical Doctor, for instance, for you to strive in the ever competitive labour market, you need to continuously develop yourself to match job opportunities globally.

That's why you see in our medical line, many high profile people are always going abroad to get treatment, because it is what it is.

So if you are into any kind of career, you need to begin to develop yourself to match the skills of global standards, the way the world is right now, one can be in one village and work from anywhere in the world but the question is this,

DO YOU HAVE THE SKILLS THAT MATCH GLOBAL STANDARDS?
