I used AI (ChatGPT3.5) to write essays when the concept of it first came up, that was a while ago at a different school. I was told that it was complete plagiarism and was cheating. I later looked up what other people thought about it and found a mix of opinions but was mainly met with the fact that it was "academically dishonest." I was using the programs and other sources to write an essay a few nights ago but when I came back it was blocked by the administrator.
Despite it being blocked I've found a way around it and have been using AI to create detailed and organized outlines for essays which I then write myself. After writing the main part of the essay I will shoot it back into AI to organize my points and clear up any mistakes overall enhancing the writing. Would this still be considered cheating?
In my opinion, this is using tools to my advantage, nothing is speaking against what I am doing nor is there any rules protesting the use of AI-generated text besides the blocking of that one site which I believe I caused. Tell me what you think.
