Unconditional Love: Not Scriptural. Doesn't Exist. by elated177: 1:09pm On Feb 29
El Elohe Yahshrael!

Deut 7: 8 But it was because YHVH loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments. 10 But

those who hate him he will repay to their face by destruction;
    he will not be slow to repay to their face those who hate him.

11 Therefore, take care to follow the commands, decrees and laws I give you today.

12 If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then YHVH your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your ancestors. 13 He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land—your grain, new wine and olive oil—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. 14 You will be blessed more than any other people; none of your men or women will be childless, nor will any of your livestock be without young. 15 YHVH will keep you free from every disease. He will not inflict on you the horrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all who hate you. 16 You must destroy all the peoples YHVH your God gives over to you. Do not look on them with pity and do not serve their gods, for that will be a snare to you.

Deut 11:  8 Observe therefore all the commands I am giving you today, so that you may have the strength to go in and take over the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, 9 and so that you may live long in the land YHVH swore to your ancestors to give to them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.

13 So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love YHVH your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul— 14 then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and olive oil. 15 I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied.

16 Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them. 17 Then YHVH’s anger will burn against you, and he will shut up the heavens so that it will not rain and the ground will yield no produce, and you will soon perish from the good land YHVH is giving you. 18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 20 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, 21 so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land YHVH swore to give your ancestors, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth.

26 See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse— 27 the blessing if you obey the commands of YHVH your God that I am giving you today; 28 the curse if you disobey the commands of YHVH your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known.

Deut 9: 4 After YHVH your God has driven them out before you, do not say to yourself, “YHVH has brought me here to take possession of this land because of my righteousness.” No, it is on account of the wickedness of these nations that YHVH is going to drive them out before you. 5 It is not because of your righteousness or your integrity that you are going in to take possession of their land; but on account of the wickedness of these nations, YHVH your God will drive them out before you, to accomplish what he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. 6 Understand, then, that it is not because of your righteousness that YHVH your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stiff-necked people.

1: Because of the wickedness of the 7 nations.
2: Because of the promise YHVH Almighty made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, which he confirmed to them by oath.

What does the reader make of the portion from Psalm 89 below?

Psalm 89: 19 Once you spoke in a vision,
    to your faithful people you said:
“I have bestowed strength on a warrior;
    I have raised up a young man from among the people.
20 I have found David my servant;
    with my sacred oil I have anointed him.
21 My hand will sustain him;
    surely my arm will strengthen him.
22 The enemy will not get the better of him;
    the wicked will not oppress him.
23 I will crush his foes before him
    and strike down his adversaries.
24 My faithful love will be with him,
    and through my name his horn[f] will be exalted.
25 I will set his hand over the sea,
    his right hand over the rivers.
26 He will call out to me, ‘You are my Father,
    my God, the Rock my Savior.’
27 And I will appoint him to be my firstborn,
    the most exalted of the kings of the earth.
28 I will maintain my love to him forever,
    and my covenant with him will never fail.
29 I will establish his line forever,
    his throne as long as the heavens endure.

30 “If his sons forsake my law
    and do not follow my statutes,
31 if they violate my decrees
    and fail to keep my commands,
32 I will punish their sin with the rod,
    their iniquity with flogging;
33 but I will not take my love from him,
    nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.
34 I will not violate my covenant
    or alter what my lips have uttered.
35 Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness—
    and I will not lie to David—
36 that his line will continue forever
    and his throne endure before me like the sun;
37 it will be established forever like the moon,
    the faithful witness in the sky.”

John 14: 15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

Yahushua the Messiah to his disciples: "show me you love me by obeying my Commandments." You can't claim to love me when you do not obey my Commandments. When you show that you love me by obeying my Commandments, I will give you my Power, the Spirit of truth - the Set-apart/Holy Spirit.

Unconditional love is an illusion; it does not exist. Know this and pursue righteousness - obedience to the Commandments of YHVH Almighty - with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your might.

El Elohe Yahshrael! Hallelu YAH!

If I talk now kobojunkie and co go talk say I dey talk rubbish... but na una no even know wetin una dey talk
You're looking for unconditional love that you can't give yourself
1st Corinthians 13 wasn't talking about the love you give to others
But yourself
Isn't that unconditional?

... Unconditional love is an illusion;
it does not exist.
1. Did you earn God's love?
2. Can you earn God's love?
3. Who between God and you, love the other first? You or God

Zaheertyler:
It does exist man

Of course, scripture is replete of God's agape love (i.e. unconditional love)

The fact that certain things, certain mindset can separate us from experiencing the unconditional love of God, is not an excuse to create topics with cheap sensational claims

elated177:
Zaheertyler, show me.
Agape love (i.e. unconditional love)
God's love takes many forms throughout Scripture and you don’t have to earn or work for it before God can pour out His love to and/or over you.

Personal text: Jesus is not a theologian. He is God who told stories.

In the Old, God's Love was earned by those who Obey His commandments and teachings; His wrath He promised to those who would not obey His Law.
9 “So remember that the Lord your God is the only God, and you can trust him! He keeps his agreement. He shows his love and kindness to all people who love him and obey his commands. He continues to show his love and kindness through a thousand generations,
10 but the Lord punishes people who hate him. He will destroy them. He will not be slow to punish those who hate him.
11 So you must be careful to obey the commands, laws, and rules that I give you today.
12 “If you listen to these laws, and if you are careful to obey them, the Lord your God will keep his agreement of love with you. He promised this to your ancestors.
13 He will love you and bless you. He will make your nation grow. He will bless your children. He will bless your fields with good crops and will give you grain, new wine, and oil. He will bless your cows with calves and your sheep with lambs. You will have all these blessings in the land that he promised your ancestors to give you. - Deuteronomy 7 vs 9 - 12
In the New, God still did not change His mind at all regarding the fact that anyone who wished to have His Love must earn it through careful obedience of His Law. undecided
9 “I have loved you as the Father has loved me. Now continue in my love.
10 I have obeyed my Father’s commands, and he continues to love me. In the same way, if you obey my commands, I will continue to love you.
11 I have told you these things so that you can have the true happiness that I have. I want you to be completely happy. - John 15 vs 9 - 11
God's Love for men has always been conditioned on obedience to His teachings and commandments — God's Law. It was so in the Old and remains so even today. undecided
13 The greatest love people can show is to die for their friends.
14 You are my friends if you do what I tell you to do.
15 I no longer call you servants, because servants don’t know what their master is doing. But now I call you friends, because I have told you everything that my Father told me. - John 15 vs 13 - 15
To put it differently, Jesus Christ said those who do what He tells them to do — obey His teachings and commandments — are His friends; meaning those who are born-again and yet refuse to obey His teachings and commandments are His enemies. Those who choose to be enemies of God are not loved in Eternal Damnation. lipsrsealed

There is no such thing as unconditional love in the Scriptures?
Re: Unconditional Love: Not Scriptural. Doesn't Exist. by Dtruthspeaker: 10:22am On Mar 02
Zaheertyler:
1st Corinthians 13

And there are conditions in there eg "not behaving unseemly"

We live in a conditional world eg you are paid wages because you worked.

What is normal love, zaheertyler?
Unhealed man and unhealed woman truma bonding
A rich man looking for a woman who can clean or who is good in bed or who can cook or who is a virgin...loving with conditions
And vice versa
You should practice unconditional love for yourself first and then you don't need to fall in love because of whatever
1st Corinthians is the best way to go about it
Be patient with your self..be kind...do not envy etc and every action should be done with love
Then when you decide to love others you love and accept them for who they are despite their social or economic backgrounds...you love without conditions...
Have you seen how children who receive real unconditional love from their parents behave?
And those who don't
and what's funny there are billions of people out there stuck on the idea of conditional love thinking it is real love and they end up in pain, depression and victim mentalities
