When an institution of Government as big as Nigeria Customs Service can not successfully coordinate an Auction of their over time items as we can see, then, we are in more in trouble.

The Auction exercise by Nigeria Customs that started about 7 weeks ago is already hitting a hard rock and have began to scatter.

For the past 2 weeks now no single item has been Auction due to either deliberate or unintentional system glitches.

More worrisome is the fact that no single statement has come from them on why the Auction was not done yesterday, Tuesday as the normal.

Another disturbing situation is the bizarrely and blatantly demand at pegged amount of bribe from the Clearing Agents who came to clear winners' cars.

No one office that a paper will pass without payment of at least #30,000, I witnessed it, not a joke......

In Grimaldi shipping company is a better stress compare to the officers in Five-Stars (sallaum) where the Clearing is tasking.

MAJORITY OF THE CARS WON 3 WEEKS AGO HAVE NOT BEEN CLEARED.

It took the Clearing Agents 3 days to beg the Nigeria Customs TASKFORCE UNIT of FiveStar to drop their #100,000 bribe demand on each car to #35,000 currently been taking by the unit.

NOTE: The forceful extortion is aside the 25% Shipping Company and 25% Terminal Charges of the amount you won your car.

We sincerely beg the CONTROLLER GENERAL OF CUSTOMS to please intervene, this is seriously denting the image of your organisation.

I PLEDGE TO MY COUNTRY, NIGERIA.

First of all, why don't the Custom publish the quantity of goods seized and the quantity auctioned for transparency sake?
