‘My husband impregnated my househelp and kicked us out’, says woman found sleeping in the street with kids

A Nigerian woman found sleeping in the street with her two sons has alleged that she was kicked out by her husband after she fought him for impregnating her househelp.

The woman had some of her belongings covered with a tarpaulin while she used a bench and some planks to barricade herself and the kids from the sidewalk and the prying eyes of the public.

Her plight was brought to social media by a young Nigerian, King Mitchy, who went over to her to find out why she was sleeping in the open with her children.

The lady claimed she married the wrong man as her husband impregnated the lady who helped them to wash his clothes.

She claimed the man later sent her out with her kids apparently after she confronted him.

She claimed she was a graduate and has now been left stranded. Mitchy gave her some money to buy food for herself and her sons.

Her plight has generated interest with many people suggesting getting a room for her to lay her head with her kids.

This looks too drastic. Is there something this woman is not telling us? Why would a sane man throw his family out? Two innocent sons? And why is the woman not putting up with a family member, friend or neighbour while seeking a solution? Is this an emotional blackmail attempt? Wish the man would respond for us to know what's really happening.

Wether the story is real or not, one lesson married women need to learn from here is that most of the things they get house helps for is what they can handle and hence protect their family from issues like this.

We do not need to "hear from the man too", a Judge in a family court needs to hear him and get him to explain why his children, he had with the wife are sleeping rough on the streets. A man has NO RIGHT to throw his wife and children into the streets. it is the ignorance of most women that make some men think they have the right to do so. The marriage may end but provisions for those children MUST CONTINUE!

Probably when those children become adults and have strained relationship with their frail and sickly father....we know who to blame.

If she have relatives and they are here in Nigeria and no faraway African countries, and no one is willing to help her, that alone should tell you the kind of woman she is.

Then he has to present the DNA test results confirming he is not their biological father before a family court, then he would be absolved of all paternal responsibilities over those children and if the woman insists they are his and do not trust the result, another round of testing would have to be done in a neutral facility approved by the court.

I know some men are sometimes in a haste to throw their wives belongings out, when they have had enough, but pray you don't have to deal with a vindictive and manipulative woman. Some women will set up a scene to destroy you, and make the world to believe their stories. In a woke world of today, a woman is always innocent until proven guilty, while the man is guilty until proven innocent.

During the pandemic, my wife ask for something, I explained why we couldn't afford such at that time, that she should be patient. Few days later, the brother called me, stating how important it was to grant my wife's request. I stood my grounds knowing the financial burden her request carried. Then a week later, my brother called on same issue. I got upset, because she was involving everyone around me on an issue we could debate within 2 of us. In front of her, I told my brother that I was going to do it in future when funds are available, but with how she was going with it, I won't ever do it again. When I ended the call, she started screaming and calling the neighbors. It was about midnight. Her story was that I was physically abusing her.

Note, I am not defending any man who throws his children out, but most stories are crafted to always paint the man abusive and toxic. And sometimes we believe.

While i feel for this woman, E clear say na lazy woman be this. A liability. She no mind if her husband keep her for the house with the impregnated house help. She's only vexed cos she was booted out. Lazy housewife come still get house help. There is nothing wrong with a woman depending on her husband for all of her sustenance in marriage. After all, that kind of marriage remains a valid contract. The problem arises when that husband is not able to provide or refuses to as in this case. There seems to be no legal recourse available to women in such cases and that is the problem here.

Of course, there is more but where children services works, that man would not have it easy as na he beg to see his children and may lose having the children ever living with him until they are 18, when they can decide on their own whether they want to have anything to do with their father or not.

So it her fault for bringing a maid because the man is a dog that doesn't have control over his actions, right? You see how you guys always focus on what the women could do better whenever a man cheats. If it was a lady that did something like this, this thread would have been all about how women cannot be trusted, how they are olosho or how they'd do anything for money. But when a man cheats, the question becomes what did the woman do, why get a house help for what you can do yourself, is she nagging wife or does she dress poorly, has she gotten fatter, etc. It's always the women that need to change as if we men don't have the brain to different between what is wrong and what is right.

See how most people on this thread are pointing out how women should be working or how she shouldn't have gotten a maid or how she must have done something wrong to that's missing in the story, etc. Treating men's promiscuity with kid gloves while baring our fangs when a lady does as little as dressing a certain way is not being manly. We do not know the whole story here? Its very easy to take sides without knowing the facts. Maybe his wife has not been giving him the sexual gratification he needs? Maybe she has failed in the bedroom which has left the husband frustrated and led to him having sex with the home help?

Still, he has children. He needs to provide for them over everything else. If his wife has not been showing him enough attention sexually, then naturally the attention of a younger woman would become more appealling. If he is now happy with his new sexual partner he should stay with her, but should allow the children back into the home. His wife should leave and find a new life for herself and reflect on her impotency in the marriage.... The third solution would be for them all to live together. His wife can look after the children and his new mistress can take care of his sexual needs. This probably would be the best solution. Maybe at some point in the future she would join them in the bedroom...
