Some Benefits of the Civil Service Reforms By Governor Godwin Obaseki led Administration.

1) The Edo State Civil Servant is the best paid civil servant in Nigeria today. The minimum wage in Edo State is 40k. In other states and the FG it is 30k. Many states in the federation are actually struggling to pay 30k as minimum wage. Ours is 33.3 percent higher.

2) The civil servant in Edo State gets paid his salaries on or before the 26th of every month without fail. Most other states are in arrears.

3) The civil servant in Edo receives a 13th month salary in December. Many federal and state workers are yet to receive their Dec 2023 salaries not to talk of double salaries for that month.

4.) Edo is the only state in Nigeria today where January 2024 promotions have been approved. Most other states are in several months and in some cases, years of arrears of promotion.

5) All workers in Edo State Public Service are life insured. When a worker dies, his beneficiaries receive the death benefits within weeks of his demise. This does not happen in other states.

6) Every worker in the Public Service of Edo State is on health insurance. Check out the impact of this on them by simply going to the secretariat and sampling opinions.

7) The above are some benefits of the reform efforts. No civil servant who enjoys these unprecedented benefits will speak ill of the system. The reforms cut across all sectors with new PHCs and well equipped health facilities, Judiciary, Agric, technology, education, entertainment, tourism etc.
