Sultan urges Muslims to look out for moon

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Saad Abubakar has called on the Muslims in the country to look for the new crescent of RAMADAN 1445 AH, today Sunday the 10th of March 2024 equivalent to Islamic Calendar 29th of Shaaban 1445 AH.

In a statement signed by the Chairman Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs Sultanate Council Sokoto, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu says if sighted, the information should be forwarded to the nearest district or village head for onward communication to the Sultan

The following telephone numbers have been provided for reporting the new moon to the Sultan’s palace.

No, Muslims don't. We only use the moon to count the months. Same way our forefathers did before we got access to the calendar
