... as protest against Edo Deputy Governor's Impeachment saga continues

The political demonstrations in Edo State continued on Sunday in the various senatorial districts of Edo State, as protesters displaying cardboard against the potential impeachment of Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu, exemplify a moment of heightened political tension.

The participation of citizens from all three senatorial districts underscores a widespread sentiment of discontent towards the actions of the governor and members of the state house of assembly field by Blessing Agbebaku.

The vigorous rejection of the impeachment proceedings reflects the belief among protestors that the removal of Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu would be unjust and unwarranted.

The protests serve as a visible manifestation of public outcry and a collective plea for governmental accountability and transparency in the state's leadership.

Such displays of civic engagement are emblematic of a vibrant democratic society where the voice of the people plays a crucial role in shaping political discourse and decision-making processes.

Some of the protesters vowed to register their displeasure to the State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki and the State House of Assembly during their next sitting.

As at the time of writing this report, the Deputy Governor is yet to receive the official notice of his impending impeachment from the State House of Assembly Clerk or any of his proxies.
