As what I will term the newest low, a High court Judge in Awka Anambra State after keeping litigants waiting for hours asked them to pick another date because there was no power in the court house.

I have been hearing stories about the dilapidation in the judiciary but this is just a new low. For over three years my case is yet to get a hearing. Judges at moments notice will at the wave of a finger ask people to pick another date. Our judiciary termed the hope of the poor man should be rephrased to the cause of pain to the masses.
It's either they are not in the mood, not feeling too well, having a valedictory session or just want to read out judgement only. These judges care less about the pains, losses in resources and man hours they cause the populace. I now have a clear picture why people anguish in detention and correctional facilities nationwide for years; Judge might be feeling too hot to hear their case.
Something needs to be done. Now I know why they shouted GO TO COURT.

It is testament of the rot pervading the Nigerian judicial system.

I have a land matter that has been on for about 28 years now. Case is presently at the court of Appeal, several adjustments yet no substance. Even the case file is difficult to trace.

The high court judge who handled the matter before now wanted a chunk of the land or a jumbo bribe.

At a wave of the hand, they adjourn, without a care in the world that one or more of the litigants may have travelled several days or even flown in from abroad to attend court sittings at great cost. They treat every case like a rundown run-off-mill factory product without sensitivity that lives may depend on their verdicts.

Nigeria is hostile to common sense and development. The country is gone to the dogs.

I don't know what your age is, but with 28 years and still counting, your children may probably inherit the case. grin grin

So sorry Sir.

It's not funny and that explains why most people just go ahead and do what they believe is needful.
In my case I have a heavy duty equipment with a daily rate of #300k/day idling for over 3yrs because of our judiciary. Very upsetting.
