I really would like us to talk about this, so anytime you see this drop your own point so we can learn one or two.

So I had a conversation with a friend two days ago about work place growth.

So my question to everyone is:

1. What do you consider as growth, is it salary wise, or base on income greater than expenses
2. To what extent would one say he had grown in an organization

Growth is defined by a frank self-assessment of achievements gained in the course of working in an organisation.

It could be personal and could be organisational.

Is the organisation doing well in all fronts, but you don't feel you are gaining anything. Moreso, growth is nothing to do with your Salary or income.

In practical terms - Growth refers to skills you can add to your currentCV as having gained from a current/recent employer. It can also be attained by training or mentorship.

It's a constant routine for anyone conscious of self-development - or else, it's daily routine.

One of the best advice to any employee is to have a robust cv that cuts across reputable organisations.

Look out for jobs, and don't be sentimental or attached to any job.
No one grows in their comfort zone

Move and develop as you march forward.

Build connections, value people and appreciate life

For me:

1. Experience gained in work done and new innovative ways of doing your job better.
2. The amount of and quality of training (certified and non -certified)
3. Promotions and salary increase.
4. Networking with customers, colleagues and senior management staff of other organisations in that industry.
5. More responsibility been given to me to help me grow as a professional.

Career Growth means when you work in different units in an organization with some responsibilities been given to you to achieve

And at the end of the day , you were given senior managerial position having acquired necessary skills and experience on the job.
